fortunately in almost every building, we have access to water and water disposal on each floor, otherwise, true, a portable would be a potential problem, but in the few cases where the operator fill have to go up and down to empty and refill, we considered it still worthwhile using a portable, its more a question of productivity and to be honest, its looking like the polaris 1200 may be up to the job, unless someone knows better,,,,,,,,,,,

:)  nice one derek, so this chap, he used to teach at Hogworts did he ? 90,000 SqM over 30 buildings in a week ?  I heard of some fast workers, but just maybe that would be stratching it a bit hehe, then again, if he would do a weeks work for grand or two, we could still make money !   will give that some serious thinking about, thanks

simon potter, its got a ring to it. ;D

APT,

With respect, you seem to be all over the place as to how exactly you are going to do all of this work. With so much carpet to clean and having got the contract, don't you think it is a bit late to be starting to think about how to execute it? It sounds like you don't have the machinery in place, but then seem to be choosing the machinery based on speed over the job rather than a machine / system that fits the soil conditions and surely all of that should have been worked out in advance?
Perhaps some test patches with different systems / techniques on different soil levels to establish what is best and where.

Simon

thanks for that Mark, but Steve, any suggestions for equipment if your processes were to be used ? and how about productivity ?

Mark, would you suggest the polaris is up to doing say, 1000 to 1500 SqM a day ?

yes the polaris will do 250SqM an hour in corridors it would be a 3 man job though 1 operator 1 cable guy and 1 water boy the cable guy and water boy alternate throughout the day I normally use a tea urn to heat the water and use 25 ltr containers to bring clean water and remove dirty

The two way model will eliminate the cable guy.
