i have one and i can hardly get 45-50mpg.i have a 400l tank but never full maybe 300-350l at a push.i also have a double and single pointer all the time on the roof rack .i usually work with my brother but together have about 140-150 kg. and still don't get more than 40 mpg.next step is to change the oil with a high quality one.i changed the fuel filter recently and made a slight difference.
o and by the way my road tax went from  £185 last year to £200 for the next year.why is that for such a small engine and quite newish?my 2001 skoba fabia 1.9 diesel road tax went from £110 to £90.doesn't make any sense to me

All down to the year it was born. My Toyota Hiace with 2.5 engine only costs me £125 if I remember correctly.

My Doblo is the 1.3 registered in Nov 2006. It's road tax is £125 but the numpty govt changed it for those after 1st Jan 2007 to £185/200. But the very latest '10 and later is cheap again. It's down to euro 4/5 emissions and all that guff. My Pug 406 estate 2.0 diesel on a 2001 plate is £125 - my mate's 2000 one is £185!

I don't have a roof rack or ladders but brim my 400L tank every day.

When I work local and hardly move the van I get 40 mpg. When I work ten miles away with a country drive each way I get 50 mpg. Overall it's about 43/45.

i love the look of those vans not sure about using them for wfp though, when i went to the dealer they told me the 610 payload don't include driver or fuel,

drive and fuel is about - 130kg
350ltr tank and water  - 380kg
bucket and tools          -   10kg
ladder                           - 100kg
water pump& poles      -     5kg

total                              - 625kg

i know the weight are i bit of but overall i think you nwould be close to or over the payload  
if im wrong please tell me because im a one man band and really lake the van  

But how many guys successfully use/used the Peugeot Partner 600 / Citroen Berlingo 600 with 400 litres tanks in the back? Too small for me but works for many out there.

Drove a Bipper, terrible and very tinney, cheap feel , we have a Berlingo, which is superb compared to the Bipper, imo, but the best is Fiat Doblo 1.6 with a 1 ton payload and can fit all poles inside and drive like a car as based on new Punto. Six speed box and same over 55 mpg fuel economy. If you are not diving them, lease the Bipper

That must be the smallest turbo diesel engine,wonder if it pulls ok loaded at full payload.

It's actually a 1250cc TD

The pulling power was my first concern when I got it. I was shocked at just how good that engine is! Even fully loaded.
I'd have another fiat like a shot, no problem.
