Hi mate where did you get the 1m jets from. dave
-
i have fitted them on my main superlite brush which i use each day , i got them from cleantech they are not on their website but if you give them a ring they post them out within 2 days , the main benefit is reduced water usage as well as really good flow rate for rinsing on a very low setting i use a purefreedom trolley so the less containers i have to put in my car the better only used 6 containers today
-
how much are they?
I would imagine that they would be better at removing the likes of bird muck then?

your welcome,

why do you recommend them so highly swc?
-
well Ive used them for nearly two years now,
now some of there advantages, if you use a trolley or backpack or even small van system, they reduce the amount of water used, this is good for several reasons, ie, less stress on your motor carrying less water or as my mate says he gets two days work out of his 500ltr van system, so less water needed to be produced so less waste and lower water bills. i also find a get a better rinse with them also the fine jet is good for bird muck and rinse in of the sills, there are a few other advantages but just takes some thought not negative, they might not suit everyone but they suit many, try it for yourself

Smithy, do you use 2 or 4 jets?

are you using 25l barrels ? if so are you part time ?
-
i use two 1mm, and i work 3/4 time but my mate is full time it halved his water use he gets two days out of a 500ltr he works hemel way, it will halve your water use halve the amount of production and same with waste so if you part time or full time it will be the same results

part timer ;D thats just incase they need the main man back on the doors ;)
-
surely you would have to rinse mor eif using less water?

I was asking because of the very little water he used was not taking the mickey, 6 barrels is 125L of water, hence reason for asking if part time, I use about 4 times this amount per van but thats full time,
Will have to try it out, if it saves that much water it has to be worth a try ;D

how many houses does that do ? on an average day ?
-
cant really say on average as my houses all range in various ways thourgh out each day but i used to use between 10-12 containers a day now i reckon i could get that down to 8 a day , In my opinion lads with van mounts use far to much water just because they can when using a trolley you are far more careful with water usage , been wfp 2 yrs now used various brushes with larger jets and have struggled with 12 containers to get a full days work done , the 1mm jets provide a far more powerful jet of water which of course means you can reduce your water usage , i paid £12.73 for 4 jets plus postage bargain

prowindow,
is that right the you use 4 jets(1mm) in your brush?
If it is 4 jets would, thought similar use to 2x2mm jets?
Not being sarcastic, just very intrested to find out.
will have a go myself either 2 1mm jets as s.w.c
or 4x1 jets as yourself.
do you use a a supalite brush?/ is it easy enough to put jets in yourself?
thanks lee
-
i wouldn't recommend them, if they were not worth trying,
my mate didn't believe me at first, then after he had played about for a few weeks with them finding the best flow rate they would rinse well and save the most water, he now does two full days work out of his 500ltr van system, or as he says in some he can work even longer than before,
if the silly gits ever try to put restriction on us during any water ban( which i doubt) but these would also come into there own then too,
there a some good points to them, you just need to try it yourself.
-
i bought 4 jets i only have 2 fitted in my brush i use each day ,yes superlite brush really easy if you have the correct drill bits they are larger than gardiners jets
-
thanks guys.
I take it you tap out old jets with punch and new ones fit in ok?
thanks lee
-
Anyone know what size drill bit is needed to fit these?
-
I think its 8mm. I have only ever used 1mm jets since the early days when they were recommended to me and I think they are great.

you need 8.5mm and 8mm if i remember correctly had to borrow mine of a mate each half of the jet is a different size hence you need 2 drill bits in order to recess the jets's into brush , and hammer to tap them in or bray them is as i did hope this helps

just ordered 2 now from cleantech, if it brings down water usage its got to be a good thing

I can see why you might think so, but you've missed an important point. (It's on the year 10 maths syllabus, so if you've got access to a maths-smart 15 year old, they can explain it to you, if you need it!)
The size of the opening in a jet is calculated by the formula:
A = πr2
where r is the radius of the opening. So, the opening depends on the square of the size. (Yes, I know that the formula uses the radius and we are talking about the diameter. The formula for diameter is just too difficult to write in plain text.)
Now 12 = 1 x 1 = 1, and 22 = 2 x 2 = 4, so a 2 mm jet has 4 times the opening of a 1 mm jet.
The diagram below make it a little more obvious. You can see that a 2 mm hole is more than twice the area of 1 mm hole. It is, in fact, 4 times. As I said above.
Hope that helps.
The diagram at the bottom is a pattern that shows this in an easy-to-understand way. You have to see that the area coloured green is equal to the area coloured yellow.
(Oh ... I LOVE this stuff. ;D ;D ;D ;D )

totally agree wally had gardiners jets fitted which are supposed to be 2mm jets in fact they measure 3mm when i checked them after removing
-
sounds like cleantech will be busy, i bet i get moaned at when i next phone up, they have always hated make in these for me, i bet there is some swearing going on there while make in them ;D ;D
-
Gardiners used to do them a couple of years back might be worth calling them too.
-
thanks wally that does make sense to me, but don't ask me to explain it to someone else ;D
I can't belive how little i learnt at school ::)
