Looks ok to me Matt but in the top right corner, for services offered I personally would have the full word of "conservatory" instead of cons.  ;)

Although we know what you mean by "cons." many of the public might not.

Hi Matt,

Liked the simplicity of the site - just 2 little pet hates -

can you not shorten words - on your manin banner - mob personally I would prefer Mobile - and teh same in your banner you ahve shortened Conservatory to Cons - these are small points, you don't cut corners with your cleaning, so I would prefer the text not to be cut eithier!

Apart from that I liked it!

Looks good Matt, not too much text, just enough to get the point across and easy to use.
Did you do it yourself and if so how long has it taken?

Never start a sentance with "And"?

"uPVC" is that right?

Never start a sentance with "And"?

"uPVC" is that right?

Unplasticised Poly Vinyl Chloride

most use the term PVCu these days

at the start of the use ( many years ago ) it was allways called UPVC, BUT around  the start of the 90's ( i know as i was maintaining and installing at the time ) , the manufactures started to call it PVCu

Poly Vinyl Chloride Unplasticised

not much of a difference, though if you speak to the manufacturers you will find they use PVCu

Tut, tut Matt,

You could have at least used your own photographs!!

'Inspired' by this template by any chance?

The copyright bit at the bottom is quite funny though.

Ive done it over the last couple of evenings, if it had been a wet day Id have done the whole site in a day.

CIU needs more guys like you Mark.

Lets face it, you commented earlier and although you liked the site figured you'd  better try to run me down, just because, well you're on CIU, and thats what they do over there. Well done.

Matt.
It has a nice look to it.
At the bottom of your home page there are a lot of words showing that probably should not be showing.  It looks like they are the search terms that the search engines pick up.  Possibly in some browsers they are hidden if the text and background colours are the same?  I use IE 6 and that part of the page shows as black text on grey background.
Also, I'm not so sure that "work-ethic" and "care-homes" should have hyphens in them.
Title: Re: Site is finished
Post by: Gleaming windows on March 02, 2010, 08:54:09 am
Thanks Stan, Google can be a bit finicky if you use a font colour the same as the background colour (to hide search terms) it doesnt like it and can penalise your position on a search results page. I may minimise them a little more but we'll see how it goes.

Thanks.

Matt

Apart from the last comment, the only comment I have made on 'your' site was this:

My father is the owner of Studio Arts, the designer of the template and code you plagiarized and also the copyright owner of the photos you are using, (incidentally the guy in the photo is called Micah and is a friend of mine)

So forgive me everybody if I don't join in the singing of praises.

and Forgive me if I 'run you down' when you put a post up on here asking people to 'shoot from the hip' and pass comment on your supposed hard work.

Simply a coincidence  ;D

He must be a talented web designer, to have come up with a design so similiar as one made by me  ;D ;D

In all honesty, you should be patting me on the back, pleased, happy about it, there have been a lot of positive comments about my site, you know your father might just get a few leads out of this. I think some commission is called for. You know Mark, you're just a moaning old woman, look on the bright side for once, your Dads got a bit more work because of me. Simples ;D
