Probably been posted before but what does everyone rate as the best / most suitable pre sprays on the market???
-
Anything that gets the muck out.
Seriously. Depends on the carpet, degree of soiling location etc. Too broad a question for a single answer.

Er, try all different ones from different suppliers - thats the only way your gonna know cos its down to preference.
Also I am quite suspicious of newbies to the industry coming on here trying to find shortcuts. Trial and error mate, along with hard work etc etc.

Powerburst, Champion, psg and pureclean are my favs

Whats the best pre spray?
Anwser what carpet fibre are you using it on.
Would be my question..
-
There's a pre spray for every occasion, you could use micro splitters many cleaners use only those but you will find that there isn't one product for every job.

It is a bit like asking ,, what is the best shampoo?
A better question would have been ,, Which prespray do you use ,, for what and why?
-
For most jobs I try to use: M/S and Fineline for Wool.
Restaurants: I use Blitz or Prochem Power Burst
Sofa's: Prochem Fabric Restorer!
The latter 2 examples are rinsed with Prochem Fabric and Fibre Rinse.....
I am looking at using chemicals supplied by a company which is close to where I live to support local businesses.

I use DFC 105. Occasionally boost with Energiser and sometimes with Prochem's Citra Boost as problem solvers.
Will freshwater rinse, DFC rinse or Clearwater Rinse as appropriate. Again occasionally boosted with Energiser if appropriate.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Powerburst or Champion for me.
For upholstery Fabric Restorer with a dash of Citra Boost.

Siddeeq:
If its "probably been posted on here before" then why don't you just do a search and find out.

Woah!!
Whats happened to all the last lot of replies ???
I think that the recent 'Moderator' assigned is waving his power badge a bit too much! What is the reason that they were removed??? as they were fine and no bad language, nothing offensive, no url's posted, no other suppliers pposted, no bullying...
SO WHY WERE THEY REMOVED??
-
Ken, when you say Energiser, do you mean, the aditive booster made by Chemspec ?
-
Yes
-
Ken , I prefer to use 105 as a rinse but find I go through loads , hence not that economical. I put 100ml to 15ltr bucket. How do you mix it?

DFC 105 can be used as a pre-spray, an in tank cleaner and as a rinse agent. So it's 3 products in one for extraction cleaning.
After consultation with my distributor and Chemspec Europe, I work in a different way but still achieve excellent results.
Mix as a hot pre-spray @ 1:20 to 1:30 depending on soiling level. Agitate E/W & N/S with Envirodri, freshwater rinse, hot or cold
For the few licensed premises I do, rarely any blacktop & annually cleaned, 1:20, agitate with rotary, and DFC rinse @ 1:256.
You'll find a little more information on the Chemspec US website. They say that for in tank cleaning use at 1:128 (as per label) But they also say that if you are rinsing DFC 210 or DFC 105, then mix @ 1:256 in tank.
I have a large house in Worcester that I clean every year. Professional family with immaculate home. Never seen any "dirt" in the 24 years I've been going. So I mix as per label @ 1:128 in tank, spray carpet with wand then rinse/extract and groom. I only use a pre-spray on the entrance/hall.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

I tend to use DFC 210 as prespray so might try 105 a rinse at the more economical dilution, thanks.
Also like using it on upholstery.

Ken,
Might have to give this DFC a try. Could you please explain how to use the DFC105 & DFC210 please.
-
Can prochems citraboost be added to any of the microsplitters as a prespray or to the plain water rinse?
-
prochem state it can be added to pre-spray,extraction detergent, or rotary shampoo solutions
-
Richie
DFC 210 is a dedicated pre-spray in powder form.
DFC 105 is a Woolsafe Approved Carpet and Upholstery pre-spray, in-tank cleaner and a carpet rinse agent.
Although in liquid form, DFC 105 is, I believe, the same chemistry as DFC210 except the 105 has an extra ingredient to bring it into line with Woolsafe requirements. Chemspec claim both products to be from sustainable resources and biodegradeable.

I have only ever used Prochem's Citra Boost as a pre-spray additive. I've never used it in a rinse. IMO there would be no need as in the pre-spray it would dwell longer so have more time to do it's work.
I have a concern that d'limonene may not be free rinsing so I always take the precaution of using a rinse agent.
I have successfully used Citra Boost many times with microsplitters and DFC 105.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

If i can use it, i go for Powerburst and rinse with Crystal Green, On wool at the moment i am using ultimate master or if its trashed powerburst and f an f rinse or alltec acid rinse its hard to say which is best i think using the strongest chemical that is safe.
-
Siddeeq,
Further to my first post. If you weren't confused before then you should be by now. The two previous post's are a complete contradiction of each other; although I would favour Ken's method over "using the strongest chemical" as suggested by James.
Could I suggest that the best solution you can use on a carpet is 'Training' and plenty of it!!
Adi

Adi please note i said "safe"
The reason i said the "most powerful" was from my own experience! i recently had a wool berber and used a low ph on it and it became the first carpet i had to re clean it was a very poor result which i was not at all happy with, i re did it with powerburst and f and f rinse which was much better. so i would stick with what i said if its trashed it requires a bit more than a neutral ph to tackle it until i find an alternative thats what i will use on this type of carpet also because i was unable to use the envirodri to agitate first due to the type of carpet ie loop berber so this affects the results as well making the chemicals used have to be that much more effective.

Not a criticism James, just an observation.

Not a criticism James, just an observation.
Probably not the best "term" to use i admit ::)
but its an impossible question to answer its like asking whats the best car.
just out of interest what would you have used on the trashed wool berber i had, after trying the the woolsafe prespray that failed miserably.
-
Powerburst

James
Depend's if we define "trashed" in the same way. Prior to xmas I had a HSL (Berber) that was very grubby, almost beyond redemption, like me. Used a traffic lane degreaser (ph 10) gave it load's of agitation and allowed it to dwell for about 15/20 min's (including the agitation time). Hot rinse with Ultimate Master. Surprised myself with the result, delighted the lady of the house and got a booking to do the rest of the house end of Jan. Can't wait!!! Same carpet throughout and all in the same condition.
I get all the good stuff.
-
thats interesting did not know you could use ultimate master in that way thought you had to prespray with it too.
main problem i have with berbers more so if they are bad is not being able to properly agitate other that with my grooming brush dont use the envirodry dont dare i have also tried lower heat but find as hot as i can get it best also.
-
Ultimate Master is best used at 60 degree's but will still work at higher temps. Being a self neutralising product it is designed to leave the carpet in a ph neutral condition and reduces risk of colour run etc..
Nothing wrong with agitation with a grooming brush, just do a bit more of it.
-
Ultimate Master is a splendid product but I always used a pre-spray. I had trouble getting hold of it last year, delayed shippment or something so switched to powdered woolsafe so don't use it much now, still have a kilo left.
