Title: Ever get treated like dirt?
Post by: ftp on September 07, 2009, 08:24:11 pm
Did a job on friday and customer was out, no problem just carried on. Next up cleaned a neighbours two doors away. They paid up, elderly couple then they offered to pay for the missing neighbour. I declined but they insisted, so I took their money.
Missing custy spots me today and tries to pay "it's ok your neighbour paid for you" I said.
"in future don't ask them for money!" he said
I told him they offered
"well in future don't let them!"
What a numpty.

I pulled up once to a nice house in a posh estate with an old lady gardening next door. As I was uploading my kit she was having a nice conversation about the garden, weather and what not. Then 'so what are you here to do'. 'Clean their windows', I replied. 'Oh' and she walked off the old cow.

Hi,

He may well have a good reason for not wanting his neighbours to pay you. I know its hard, but don't get thinking he is treating you like dirt, unless of course he was?

Yes,

We clean on a very nice estate in stone near to stoke,

We pulled up got our kit out and got ready to start,

Suddenly a guy from over the road runs accross,

"I dont want you people cleaning this house this time"

Why?

"Theyre on holiday and wont be wanting you people on their property whilst theyre away, Im keeping an eye on their house" ( thats how clever he is)

"Its ok" I said (pulling my warrant card out of my pocket)

"Im a part time police officer, ill keep an eye on it for you whilst we are on the estate"

"oh" he said.

and off he went ;D ;D ;D

Yep, I turned up at a customers house at the time we arranged.

Knocked the door, no answer. So I gave her a bell on the mobile and this is what was said...

Me
'hi, its John-Paul, I'm at your house now and no one is home for me to clean the windows as arranged'

Her
'Yeah I know, I decided to go out instead, so you'll have to wait there till I get back, I should be home in an hour or two'

Me
'I'm sorry mrs....., but I have other jobs booked in after yours and need to be there when I have said'

Hers
'Well I might be in tomorrow at some point, but its only a window clean. You will have to keep coming round and try to catch me in'

Me
'I'm sorry, but I'm out of your area for a while now and have other jobs booked in'

Her
'Well you will have to find time because I want my windows cleaning'

To cut a story short, she got told to find another windy cleaner, cos I wasnt willing and didn't have the time to mess about like she wanted me to.

Stupid woman was always moaning that my price was a lot and she was going to find someone cheaper. She even told me once she had anotherwindy cleaner coming to give her a price. Her neighbour told me that she rang 6 and none came to quote her lol

Ive never posted any garbage on here. I just repost everyone elses verbal diarrhoea; all mixed up together.

It gives a colourful yet culturally diverse and informed mix of all those genders, creeds, religions and opinions that helps to make this forum a funny, humourous, relaxing and informative place.

Personally I think of my ramblings as art.

You made the mistake of trying to hold a conversation with her. You should just agree and disappear out of her life.
I never get told what i have to do by a customer. They can ask and i will agree. I can tolerate rudeness if it's unusual but if not it's byee. Except i don't waste time saying it. I just ignore them and fade away.

I hope you told her you dont like being treated disrespectfully.

"Only the windows being cleaned".. and "well i want them cleaned".

I had been pretty blunt with her tbh - if she wanted them cleaned should have stayed in as agreed!

Obviously didn;t want them cleaned as she went out even though it was arranged.

People like that dont deserve respect as they simply do not show any to you.

My customers can dictate days and time all they like so long as they pay for the privileged otherwise i clean when im in the area and thats it.

Just to point out: one person is giving his opinion, the other is putting someone elses opinions down... in my eyes that doesn't make Wolfie the prat. Wolfie may have put it a little bit more flippantly than other but I for one kind of agree... apart from the hex part... that's a bit strong!

Love and peace!

needlesstosay of course that I have no idea what a 'hex' is, apart from some vaigue notion that its a witchy kind of thing, AND I also know that some people take this kind of thing very seriously, BUT that I don't give  fiddlers cuss about that kind of thing, SO ha ha, if a 'hex' is a true thing, then go for it, otherwise ignore me.

Shouldn't be to difficult.  ;D
