i ve just got in from pricing up a house on a estate where i do five house already but this house has one off them pitched roofs over the front down stairs windows and door which is the best way to use my ladders to get to the top windows , please don't say wfp as i don't have one as i only do trad and the customer does not want wfp as she got rid off the last one I'm getting a bit off work off this estate so please any advice

WFP :-X

Or get your customer to sit on the bottom rung.
-
Sorry, seriously though could you tie the ladder into the building somewhere?
eg - tie rope from bottom rung to something substantial on the house
I've just read this on one of your posts:
... i use 30ltr drums at the moment to carry my water so one of them would do...
You could put one or two of these at the bottom of the ladder
-
never though off that i was thinking off using my ladder off so I'm not on the guttering also do want to lose this house as they have just got a new conservatory up and they want that doing as well its not a big pitched but it to steep to stand on

Don't bother faffing about with stand offs,
Get yourself a pair of ladder mitts: >>>Ladder Mitts<<< (http://www.laddermitts.co.uk/default.htm)
(Buy them ----- >>>From here<<< ;) ) (http://www.cleaningspot.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Ladder_accessories.html)
And get some of these pronto: >>>Ladder Limpets<<< (http://www.laddatec.com/index.htm)
You won't regret it. It'll make things more stable until you get your WFP.
:) :) :)
;D

normally i do but this is a steep one nothing to hold onto the one out the back off the house i can walk on and across no bother its just the front so a ladder off wont work then im doing this job tomorrow
-
put the top of the ladder above the window and the angle should be alright,if you have a spiked ladder you can saftly come out of a garden with the ladder on the sill

stand off, and footed maybe your only option, or get a long trad pole, you could also think about going wfp to stop this happening again but will not push that as I hate wfp window cleaners ;D
-
the only reason i got this job and the other five is they dont like wfp and they want trad and there more to follow them so i want to get this right as they are all spreading my name around the estate
-
get your ladder above and you should be alright thats how i do them, sometimes though i get it footed if bad,so i do on saturdays and take the wife
-
