It closed down on march 11th John, there was a thread on earlier last week mate. Got quite a few replies might be worth a look.
I know your looking to upgrade machine John, would you be interested in the new Prochem Powerplus 500 with heater only 5 months old still under warranty mate?
Mark

Thanks for the offer Mark but think I'll go for the new Ninja.
Can be left in vehicle while working so in effect you have a T/M at a portable price.
Just not the waste and water capacity.

Actually what you have is a portable mounted in your van.
Not knocking the concept but in reality thats what you will have.
Applying the terminology truckmount to how it is understood by majority means you have a completely different machine then a portable which happens to be in your van.
-
John
Have you had a price for your new ninja ???
Are you going for the 2" hoses with your new set up and getting the vac booster ???
-
OK Joe, I will have a machine that stays in the van while I clean with it, but then isn't that what a T/M is.
The word Truck is ambiguous anyway 'cos there all really van mounted.
Clinton.
Still debating, £3300 all in bu with no accessories.

No Probs John,
I am going to list it in the buy and section end of next week, once i get van and TM.
It is a great machine if anyone is interested.

Mark how much you asking for it my friend and does it include hoses and tools.
-
John,
£1750 with wand, 2 sets hoses (50ft), in-line heater and upholstery tool, still got 7 months warranty. As brand new not one scratch or scuff.

john, have you ever seen a truck-mount? i can't beleive that you think a porty in a van is the same,

John
I had a look at one myself and was sent all the info think it came over 4 grand with tools and fully insulated hoses to cope with the steamate ???

John
Just ask Mike Osbourne if he put his Speedster in his van would he have a "truckmount" like his Chemspec Avenger.
-
There used to be a guy on here that put 2ninjas in his van and linked them together and called it a TM, great idea though.
Joe and Mike I can't recommend highly enough the difference with a 2" bore wand, it sticks to the carpet.
Shaun
-
Derek had better not get a 2" wand, he would never get any work done - just stuck in one place shouting "glides are for girls!" ;D
Would be interesting to try one.
How is the single jet wand going on Shaun. Did that come in 2" ?
-
I love it for empty homes when they are bad stains as it cleans and takes away spots with the force of the jet, if it were a 2" I'd use it all of the time but with most of my work being old customers cleaning grotty properties isn't what I do so the Ti is better for quick drying.

It's a carpet cleaning machine in a van just the same as a T/M.
It's got the vacs, the 400psi pump and the 2" hose.
It's got heat and steam what more do you want.
All it hasn't got is the waste and water tank and the hassle of servicing.
Not sure what vacs are in a TM but this will do up to 400 feet.
Pray tell me because no, I've never worked with or even seen one round these parts.
-
A portys vac motors wont run 400ft of hose John.
Mark
-
John
I know that Ashbys claim that the Ninja will run 400 feet - but I seriously doubt it.
I've got a 400psi Ninja and I doubt it would be much cop over about 150 feet.

John
You will need the extra piggy back vac that hangs on the ninja to take you up to 3 vacs and then you will get some power on the vacs :)
Think it came to over 4 grand with the vat etc ???
-
Clinton
Sounds about right, quoted me £3300 inc the dreaded for just the machine, no accessories.
Look to add on about £200 a length for hose.

10 months ago I was like you. I had a very good porty, a Scorpion, and knew how well it performed.
I had no interest in a TM, in fact at the CCDO last year John Kelly had a 15hp Prowler to play with and I must have been one of only a few that did not bother - no interest at all.
Then there was a huge debat on here, Simon Gerrard inparticularly was at the forefront, about why porty users dont go over to TM. Went on for days and quiet verbal as well many will remember.
It was then I decided to listen to these very experianced TMers like Simon, Shaun, Steve Gunn, Len Gribble, Paul Moss and many others - and I went and got a 2nd hand one. Didnt cost me a fortune, less then £2500 set up.
What a difference there is between a top porty and lower end TM, and their should be because there is a price difference too.
Are you in Leeds area John?
Well either go to Sheffield and have a look at Shauns
or wait till Mark Powell has got his (presume its imminent Mark)
or even come to Warrington (its only an hour) and have a go with my Prowler.
You will be well impressed.
Clinton was impressed a few weeks ago.
So was Mike Osbourne last Thursday when he collected his machine off me - and he had bought it and paid for it without ever seeing it work!
-
John
I would go for the fully insulated hoses as it protects items in houses when your steamate kicks in and would also get the extra hose :)
Like joe said it does get you thinking when you see and have a go with the t mounts and has with me too just will do it this year when i get the new van and will prob go for the prowler :)
-
Joe,
I should be running new TM beginning May if all goes to plan, getting van sorted as we speak then its just a case of getting everything fitted and off we go.
Mark
-
Mark
Are you going for a new t mount or prowler ???
What van are you going for mate ???
Just looking at the citroen dispatch type so i can still get it in my garage :)
-
LWB Transit Clinton and Prochem Apex TM mate (New) van 2 years old
Mark
-
Mark
Sounds good mate :)
Do you keep the van stored just its prob me even though i live in a nice area i do like my van in the garage with the bike and the cars on the drive :)
Me to want a new machine rather than used as once i have got my new portie and prowler and van will last for years :)(hopefully) ;)
What made you choose that t mount ???
-
Now that is a big one MArk.
Have you checked the GVW and axle loadings in a Transit. (I am serious)
what with the waste tank, fresh water tank, please all your other bits and bobs.
Do be careful and thorough before you jump - its the van I have a concern with.
Id be looking at something beefier in the van range ie Iveco (part of Iveco-Ford setup) or Movano.
-
Joe
Just checked it out too and its a beast :o
Top machine mind you dual wanding as well :)
-
A wand for each hand ;D
-
Joe ;D
-
Transit payload is 1800 kg or thats what i have been told, will double check tho, TM unit is 400kg so i thought it would be suffice.I need the dual operator because we have just secured a large contract with a massive company, we are cleaning all there offices and enterances throughout Yorkshire from May.The offices will be LM cleaned but the enterances will have to be HWE due to the high traffic and heavy soiling. This contract is the only reason i have had to upgrade to such a machine, i have been m ore than happy with my new porty on domestic jobs.Mark
