Two weeks ago....nice detached houses... all dirty... its was raining so i dropped around 100 leaflets. tried knocking but most were out...

Your right, if they want them cleaned they will.. Many of the stinking window houses will never get them cleaned.

I only do mine to give a good impression, otherwise i wouldn't bother either :P

The windows are dirty because they dont want them cleaned.

Look out for a For Sale sign, different people bring different lifestyles.

Just dont knock on the house where the previous resident has moved to.

Some people just don't care about their windows.

However, I never like cleaning those properties where the insides are so filthy, it's pointless doing the outsides.

I remember doing one, thinking, 'It looks no better now than what it looked like before I started', it was just a minging house full stop.  I disliked doing the place because it made me feel like a con-man; what was the point?  I couldn't really avoid it too, because I did the rest of the street.

I was quite relieved when the lady told me that my services were no longer required.

:) This is true!
Nothing like face to face contact... Evenings best (early evening!)
something quick like..
Couldn't help but notice your window today, do you have a w/c?
If no!
Maybe I could call tomorrow (daylight) and give you a quote!

Either way you know for sure! 8)

People with really dirty windows are the type that ring you when they can't see out of them and cancel after you have cleaned them once or twice.

People who want window cleaners are the one's with fairly clean windows anyway.

I've done this before (dropped leaflets to dirty houses and no calls) but not anymore. I now drop the leaflets then go back the next week and knock every door. Custie prefers to see the face of the person that's going to do their windows.

during the week leading up to this thursday just gone i've delivered 600 leaflets to detached houses in 3 different areas.

two areas windows were generally dirty, one was generally clean.

I quoted 2 houses while I was leafleting (not heard from either yet) and i've had one call and got the job.

I don't know if it's the credit crunch, the weather or the time of year, but i'm amazed at the lack of response. my leaflets are really smart as well.

I had enough work for the month, but i'm getting through it much quicker with my hot water nowadays, creating gaps!!

There is no point in knocking of leafletting the mingers. Virtually all the calls come from the houseproud types.

sorry thats wrong! i just signed up £400 in a village where all the windows were filthy. they hadn't seen a wc in years but no-one had the iniative in finding a new one. i 'cleaned up' as they say ;) ;D ;D

all my work has been built up from scratch and pretty much all of them had filthy disgusting windows when i started.
