I knew that already.... ::)
:P

Cant see the hose in that picture
-
We put cones out and signs, and tend to do work in town before it gets busy.
Or safely climb a ladder ;)
-
The guy in this picture deserves to get run over!
ALL my guys have cones and hi-vis vests when working near traffic. We also do any high street or main road work early to avoid situations like this. If it is not convenient then one guy will operate the pole while the other stands at the leading cone and directs traffic away from the operative.
The police are fine as they instructed us that as long as we do not cause a traffic jam or nuisance we can carry on with our work.
Never had a problem or been hit by a vehicle yet ;)
-
Good grief!
What a wally!!
Mind you, if he was using a ladder he would still be out in the road, so it would be equally as stupid.
In that situation, were he working off ladders he would also have to be coned off

Trust you Ian. ::) ;D
If he was on a ladder he wouldn't be that far out!
-
If he was on a ladder he'd still need a pole!
He's working at least 45' up!
Poor bloke, there was probably no traffic when he started.
-
What exactly is he doing as Arch said there is no water supply to be seen or am i missing something ???
-
Maybe he's got a squeegee on the end....
Not many foreigners use wfp.
-
Maybe he heard that WFP cleans windows like magic and hes stood there waiting for it to happen ;D
-
Trust you Ian. ::) ;D
If he was on a ladder he wouldn't be that far out!
Perhaps Rog, but he would still be out in the road, I personally don't stand much further out than I would were I using a ladder, very little difference in fact.
He would still be out at least a foot into the road at that height, and what with punters wandering around...
But we all do daft things, I've done plenty :-\

Wuld rather be holding that pole than doing this

I bet if you searched the whole world wide web for water fed pole accidents or dogy pics of people using them i bet you any money you would find less than you ever would than people using ladders...... Squeeky can you please advise us the 2 ladder pictures ....... how can they justify using them in this manner?

How High :o
-
I can remember when that was the norm many moons ago. (Joe Price)
Never thought it was good and thats y we got involved with the access equipment as ther where not wfp about then. 1981 got the first and haven't looked back
-
My pointer's bigger than that.
-
How High :o
I've worked that high (and more) from a ladder as recently as 2000/01. Not interested now though. I stopped going higher than first floor a long time before I got WFP.
-
How High :o
[/quote about 34 ft]

Sorry to drag this up again but the original picture was taken around here and highlites a problem of wfp. It's when the building is high and the pavement not very wide.
Personally, I would not have accepted the job for that reason.
Also, I have seen these two doing that building from time to time and they don't worry about if anyone trips over the hoses or if they get wet. I think this is one of the not often spoken about problems with wfp.
During the morning, that is a busy street.
-
And the pictures I took today.
-
I'm surprised that most of these blokes didnt get reported or sumthin'!!
What Gimps!!
