Title: Has telesales worked for you?
Post by: Katy on September 22, 2015, 03:35:19 pm
Now, before anybody jumps on me, Im just enquiring because I haven't done any calling for about a year for window cleaners - I was just interested to know, me being out of the loop for a long time whats been happening? contracts picked up? deals secured?  Its a genuine question....

Not really as I havent been doing calls in this direction for two years - ive set up another jobby - but I was just checking in to see whats been happening whilst I have stopped.  Also, I was probably one of the first people on this site to introduce telesales.  Was just interested to ask, that was all really ..........

I found that like most thing it's a numbers game, yes telesales got me work but it also got me apointments with people that weren't  remotely interested in a new window cleaning service provider .

To be blunt, you need to brief the telesales team better, our brief was for good leads with appointments with decision makers, we were specific that no appointment to be made with companies who had a window cleaner UNLESS they were unhappy with the service ( not price )

We have no interest in quoting cheaper ( and many scoffed on here at that attitude ) but the 2 tele sales people we used got us great appointments only a couple were a waste of time

Rolling a ciggy - ill try and answer this for you chaps.  Ok, as an appointment setter, thats all the telesales company can do. Yep?  The  appointment needs to be verified - which means ie,  is there a problem? are they unhappy?  Are they looking for cheap? Unhappy with service, dont turn up regularly? Its all dependent on what companies are unhappy with - but unfortunately a lot is to do with money.  However, a lot is also a bad service - I havent been on the phone for this industry for about 2 years now - also I know you guys are dedicated.  Its incredibly cut throat - I know been on the phone for 4 years.  You talk to management that cant actually make a decision, you call them back, "gone to head office" yes we know that - so alot of the time decisions are not made at ground level.  If as part of a business plan your going to do marketing via the phone, you have to stay on top of it every two days.  You make the call, you go to the meeting and then what you musnt do is leave it - carnal sin in business

Yes I've used telesales and IMO I was disappointed. I have no intention of using again. I've heard of positive results but that's not been my experience.

Sorry to hear that  - were you aware of who was being called? Did they supply the data ? Any telesales company has to have access to data, which means about £200 so they can download your area and call, they should also telephone check every number.  If they are reputable

What does "One Company, One Invoice" statement mean that's given out to leeds?  Are you sub-contracting the leeds once won ?

That's sort of a sub project Paul, in case I managed to bag any nationals, but otherwise I call individual areas for individual people.  Just set up in case I was approached through my website.
