The last thing I would do is broadcast the fact that I wont be at home for a fortnight, if the customers get a late clean once
in a while so what its not the end of the world.
If they ask me why I tell them I was on holiday if they give off at this then they get politely told where to go.
Mate if customers are doing your head in for any reason then they should be removed from your round as soon as possible.

I don't generally tell my customers when I'm going on holiday. My feeling is you don't know where that information may end up.
My next door neighbour was burgled about 7 years ago and the thieves went straight to the only two places in their home where there was stuff of value to be had and didn't touch anything else. Police recon they had the information in advance as they appeared to know exactly where to go. Where they got it from they never worked out.
If I start telling my customers when I'm going away, that's hundreds of opportunities for that information to inadvertently fall into the wrong hands.
I've found that customers usually work it out for themselves whilst I'm away. If the query why I don't tell them, then I explain. They usually reply with something like, " Good thinking."

I let all my customers( about 500 customers) know I'm away for 2 weeks on Facebook, and tell them if any money is owed, can you please post through my postbox as I won't be able to collect - at least that way I don't have to collect when I get back  ;)

Most people don't even know when your coming anyway! The older customers know, and when you show up 2 weeks late they always ask "oh, have you been on holiday" Oh yes, sorry, I've been away and I'm miles behind, sorry about that!
