Wait a moment...
You phoned them and said this battery is a duff. They told you to return it before they could send a new one.
No offense, but that's pretty normal. Otherwise you could just have sold it on ebay then asked them for another one as it is "faulty"
The point is, they can't just take your word for it that its broken and send a new one out. It's fair enough that they'd want it back before replacing it or refunding it.
Instead buy from WINDOW CLEANING WAREHOUSE!
So then Mike, if I bought a pole or some other product from you and then a week later called you up and said "its broken", you would just send another one to me no questions asked? Or would you ask for it to be returned first?
If its the former, then I'd like to order 50 poles please ;D ;D ;D
-
I no what your saying but i bought loads of them .Before not like im going to do a runner .
i was going to send battery back today .would of given them post office number . they said they would have to send it back to supply before give me a replace the crap one . Take a couple of days so monday /tuesday next week before i hear from them .
-
nip down to halfords and get yourself another one so you can keep working until the new one arrives.
then when you ve got the new battery you can swap them around every day(keep one on charge at home while out working with the other one).

Bear with me whilst I remove my tongue from cheek...
-
Yes, it's a mystery why people look down on window cleaners ;D
-
Bear with me whilst I remove my tongue from cheek...
So, no answer from you on what you would do if a customer phoned a week after buying a battery (or other product) and said "its broken"
Would you (as cleaning warehouse did) have required they send it back before offering a refund or replacement?
Yes or No?
-
Bear with me whilst I remove my tongue from cheek...
lol

What's a genie in a box lite?
Surely you're supposed to rub it to get it going?

Too many obvious jokes......not enough time...... ;D

He's answered Pete, it was a very much tongue in cheek comment.

I am probably completely wrong but I do that with customers to keep them working, and it has probably cost me a fortune over the years. I rely on people sending stuff back after they receive the new replacement, but very rarely see it. As I can take credit card payments now, I think I will take payment for the new part and refund the money when the faulty part is sent back.
-
It's 'anything'. Anythink' is not a word as far as I'm aware. And they say window cleaners are thick......

Out of the whole first paragraph on this page that's the worst error you found lol? Re-read it lol

never had a problem with them myself .

Good post ;)

Am I right that this thread about a battery that was faulty and the supplier offering to replace it after they receive back the faulty one?
If so? ???
-
If its the cleaning warehouse in wolves then I've bought 2 systems through them and have always found them brilliant.
-
He's answered Pete, it was a very much tongue in cheek comment.
Well, with all due respect, no he didn't.
He made a sarcastic comment about cleaning warehouse, basically saying that the solution to the OP's problem was to buy from him instead, when in actual fact he would have done exactly the same thing! (Or at least, that is what we are led to believe since he won't answer the question.)
That's not a 'tongue in cheek" situation, no matter how much he would like to play it down. That's a "trying to take advantage of someone moaning about a competitor" situation. Bad form!
And as if to prove the point perfectly, he has since deleted his comment.
So just for the record Mike of Facelift/window cleaning warehouse, (are you there?) see if you can answer now it's the 3rd time asking: If elinor had purchased from you instead, and called saying that the product was faulty, would you have required that he return it before you issued a refund or offered a replacement?
Its a simple YES or NO answer.
To help you answer this question, I found this on Window Cleaning Warehouse's website here (http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/shop/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=49&Itemid=69):
Faulty Items
Any faulty goods must be returned to WCW before we send out a replacement. The carriage for this is at the customer’s expense and proof of delivery is required. Once evaluated, the replacement item, if in stock, will be sent out at the customer’s expense.
Well...?
-
got 2 big boys and other stuff from them. no probs+ they came across as knowledgeable about window cleaning business.
-
I could be wrong on this but I thought that if you pay for carriage of the goods when you order them, or it's free if over a certain price, then the cost of returning the item(s) and the replacement goods has to be paid for by the supplier.
-
Yes I thought that if the goods are faulty then they would send courier to pick up, they then test the goods, if the goods are faulty they will send out a new replacement or may even repair. This would be sent back free of charge big they find that the goods are not faulty they will send it back or they may just send on a new one. They could charge you a cost of carriage but they would probably send out for free to keep your custom, and they prob get alot cheaper rates sending out goods
That's my prediction !!! 👍
-
businesses that dont go the extra mile deserve to fail .
-
Is that the lot that tried to re-direct Gardiner's internet traffic to their own site a while back?
-
No I have to pay for battery to be sent back myself.
I would of thought they would sort out picking it up .

Probably best not to buy ANYTHING from them again then.
-
DSR exists to help consumers who buy online.
Send it back and wait for a replacement. You cant really say fairer than that.

Never deleted comment, probably removed...

No that was "the window cleaning warehouse"

what you actually mean is "please stop drawing attention to the fact that I made a stupid comment".
What's your favourite kind of window Pete?
uPVC leaded. Like this:
Easy to do, and for some unknown reason the leaded ones always come up perfectly. Also because they are leaded, the customer expects to pay more, even though they don't take any longer.
Why do you ask?

I love a stupid comment...

I started asking this question around 5 years ago and intended to keep track on the answers fed back, but due to too many drunken weekend nights on CIU I ended up losing track of the answers I was given but I still ask the question just out of curiosity.
-
Never had any problems with cleaning warehouse
-
Dean, that's inspirational...
But crucially, out of the answers you have been given, what is the most common and what's your personal favourite of the favourites?
You've got me curious.

Mike@facelift
Slightly of topic .....
I would love to buy stuff from window cleaning warehouse but despite 3 requests for a copy of your catalogue since Xmas, I still haven't received 1.
Do you have any that you are gonna send out?
-
I think we are already off topic... No problem!!
New catalogue is in final stages right now and will be sent out as soon as finished, feel free to drop me a line or check out the website in the mean time...
You can catch me at the warehouse most days these days..
Thanks for the interest.

You've put me on the spot Mike,
I'm sure I can conjure up some figures by close of play tomorrow though.

Fair enough...
Hope your still taking the RazrBlade rubber on your UK window cleaning tours...
Does Jussa use it too?
