'Because steam carpet cleaners use gallons of water and high pressure, they drive dirt and moisture down into your upholstery and fabrics. This results in longer dry times which can create a breeding ground for mould and bacteria and reappearing spots caused by the dirt “wicking” up the fibres as the fabric dries. This soggy approach to upholstery cleaning can also leave behind chemicals and soapy, dirt-attracting residue'.
Is this true??? ;D

I've never had any problem with this . We use top of the range vac . Which loop and one :P
-
name and shame...

It's chemdry and the phrase is in the bottom paragraph

They would say that because it suits their cause. Total bollox of course, but hey ho!
Simon
-
and they have said this for years, from when they used the bonnet system,
lets say a potential customer reads that website then calls you and ask....... "do you use steam cleaning and will you soak my carpets with gallons of water" are you going to say...... YES WE DO & YES WE WILL !!! or will you explain to the customer the benefits of your cleaning system
-
That has to be one of the daftest things Ive ever read - and for it to be on a worldwide company's website is atrocious.
Like Mike has said - it suits their cause even if its sales nonsense.

Wait for this, I've crossed to the dark side. 8)
First day today with a TM and I was amazed how much quicker the carpets dried even compared to my LM system ;D

come back richard and judy ::)
-
Funny that chemdry use truckmounts now
-
Do they still claim to use "fizzy" water? :-\
-
Yes they still use a fizzy system .
The word CAN absolves them of all claims of lies ,, they do not say WILL cause mould ,or that it will cause soapy residues they say it Can, which I agree is dodgy , but not a lie.
-
Look at it this way, they are saying
uuurrrghh water its bad
yummy our "Chem" is good they don't actually go into much detail of what their system is
ask your customer what they would like you to use( handy hint this is best done whilst drinking from a glass of water)
water or chems
He's just picking up on one failing of HWE and thats. Some of us water boys apparently "might" cause mould or wick back
But then again you could also pick up on one of theres, Some of those "Chemical Boys" might cause allergic reactions, cancer, explosions, have they got to put a warning sign up when they use them? do you have to ventilate the room for a day? don't know myself but hey "THEY MIGHT DO THAT"
Marketing its great ! Personally I think having chem in your name in these environmentally aware days isn't the best marketing tool.

I like it
just might use it ..................... again ;D ;D ;D ;D

go right ahead, I think we could say, we can deep clean it with HWE or use a rotary to grind in the dirt and thats much cheaper as its faster and not as good a clean.
Cuts both ways i think you'll find

Hi
Have you seen this,
Nice site heard good things about this guy but not too keen on this from his site
http://www.zerodrytime.com/wet-v-dry-cleaning-W21page-23-
-
Use a vacuum cleaner and hey presto - dry instantly ;D
or
Through a bit of 'shake & vac' down, suck it back up and hey presto - dry instantly
Each to their own and currently Vax are running a TV advert that would make us all look like over priced, over machined idiots when you can get those great results with a domestic wet & dry.
-
I prefer my fizzy water in a gin & tonic, not splashed on my sofa. Cheers ;D
-
;D dont want to sound a bitch but, confusing lineage and spelling mistakes
i really want to join the carpet club ;)
gary
-
slick stuff but pretty bloody devious imo - also contradicts itself BIG TIME
the video contains the text on screen that says:
trace amounts of water
a few seconds later it says
zero water
GO FIGURE THAT
-
It's good marketing though,

What system does the Franchise use. In East Anglia and the South East we have a hose pipe ban . Although it does not apply to Business we are all encouraged to use less water. With more houses to be built in these two regions and it is well known there is not enough to sustain them the ban could last for years. Colchester where I think the Franchise is based is set to have 20 thousand more houses , this after considerable growth over past 15 years.
So maybe the guy has a Dry Fusion system
Maybe the time has come for this and waterless car wash systems
-
i used to be with them they use hwe add dry off with buffing as far as i know they still do . the man to ask on this one i allan simmons he will know :)
-
With a hosepipe ban, Id be know good down in Colchester !! Not being part of Chemdry obviously I do use a jetwas!! ;D
Must admit, I did think about workin 4 chemdry jst to get trained up and paid at same time but 3 years ish later .. i woudnt even go there with someone elses wand ;D ;D
Do wonder how much u'd actually bring home pr month with ...

Chemdrys UK head office was just down the road from me until the sold up,
the 'centre of excellence' was also there, when they moved the guy that did the training for all their franchises set up a carpet cleaning business in Beverley ( Allan might know Him Ron Rookledge)
we sometimes speak and he's a decent bloke who obviously knows his stuff....... but he uses a prochem Bravo to clean, which if I'm right is a single vac 100psi machine,
so if chemdry really believed what they say about HWE would there training guy use this machine?

I know Ron too and he had his set up off me and it NOT a Bravo.
-
Ricky you are right I've just looked at Prochems website I got them mixed up it was a Steampro, not the bravo, an honest mistake I got the names mixed up.... don't think i was being critical of Ron i was just highlighting his use of HWE
-
ron is a top bloke and was a great help starting up . and as i said i dont think you will find chemdry have ever used anything other than hwe i think a lot of them have truckmounts now . del
