Chin up! I'm sure you will pick up more...

i dont seem to have a problem picking custies up . my problem is sorting out the custies who say they want regular cleans and really in truth they are looking for a one off . people can be a bit crafty in that way when its gonna save a few quid .im thinking of charging a 2 month deposit do you reckon custies would go for it
-
Thanks mate just wondered if it happens to rest of you as its near xmas ?
-
I was thinking of charging double for first clean then do the 3rd clean free to make it sort of worth while.

Thank you for cleaning our windows, but can you leave them until May 2012 please? This is nothing to do with your work which we are well pleased with.
Have a Merry Xmas and a happy new year.

Some on here might think that your stance is unreasonable. I think you have it spot on though. The way I view it is, suppose every one of my customers did this. By the time I am supposed to clean their windows next I would be either homeless or getting threatening letters from my mortgage lender, hungry, on the verge of bankruptcy or at the least, starting to default on my debts, kicked out of my work unit for not paying the rent/water bill, unable to pay my gas/electric etc. etc. I once (politely) asked a customer how he would cope if forced to take four months unpaid leave from his work. He cancelled ;D . Apparently I made my point rather too well ;D . It's a bit like the "don't work in the rain" custies. Well sorry mate. My life has to go on whether it rains or not. I can see why quite a few win dow cleaners end up only doing commercial - though that can have headaches of its own - albeit sometimes without the potential micro-management of domestics.

they also don't stop when your on holiday ;D
-
They also dont stop when you have too few customers having dumped too many! Treat each case on its merits.

If that my custie it would depend how they had been ,as you say they are friendly ect then I would run with it , I have a custie who did same -come back in March from Nov -dont like them and wont be going back , always left them a note and called back , when I finally caught them in cos they are always on jollies they said "oh we dont like ti mounting up" (£17.00) i.e two cleans on large ish bungalow. When asked what they owe they are always surprised its a quid more than they think -been same for two years .
Wont be bothering again but Im sure they will ring me in which case it will be double for one off - take it or leave it. Still a bit annoying but its how it is .
I know from my windows that they stay cleaner longer with WFP so maybe we are shooting ourselves in foot - on other hand lots of my cusites love WFP so its really down to individual custies.
Dont let em get to you ! ;D

i dumped a custy the other week who wanted a 5 week cycle at a set time and set day, so she could pay me, dumped after one clean, as do a 4 week cycle
-
You just have to take the rough with the smooth surely? I know it can be annoying but you cant force your will on customers. Saw a great saying the other day, if you not happy with them dump them and replace them with 2 more....
Its the only way to stay sane...

Make your customers fit in with your way otherwise they just mess you about.
