Title: Thinking of buying a 35 foot SL-X
Post by: Crystal-clear on March 03, 2011, 08:16:54 pm: With a gooseneck for the big jobs higher windows over little roofs with gutters , its gona be alot lighter and better then my 31 foot extel with plastic angle adapter !

I think its gona cost over £400 thou :-\

this will be my 2nd gardiners pole my 1st is a 18 foot cl-x its great

i already got a spare brush

Window cleaning will soon be like playing golf. Turn up to the job, scratch head and pull out the right pole(club) for the job.

These poles are deffinatly a good investment.

it will kick the extel into the stone age. It looks like a lot of money, but boy is it worth it.

not that i need higher but the slx dont go higher then 35 foot does it?

You can't use the SLX 35 as an everyday pole IMO, unless you plan to split it to something more usable. (Unfortunately, you will have pole hose issues doing this). I have a CLX22 which I use as my everyday pole and have an SLX 40 for those odd jobs. I found the SLX 35 that I first had, although fine for most of the Victorian Terraces we have in Saltburn by the Sea, didn't reach them all - I needed that extra bit for a couple of odd ones.

The other option is not to take on work that needs that extra bit - maybe canvass for more work in a different area where the houses are more modern and you don't need the extra reach. TBH, my 40' pole is very under utilised.
