Watch out for wind.

I'm serious. Lost a 47ft extreme off a roof!

You can't turn them off. You can only stop the power going into the grid/house. To turn them off would mean going up there and disconnecting.

If only we had somebody who knew what they were doing ;)

Lots of flow, fan jets, rubber gloves (if you wanna feel safer) gooseneck and get the brush at the right angle. Ideally you want a nice soft brush as well.

i just clean them as if they were skylight windows.

i use a 90 degree carbon gooseneck with a standard SL flocked brush on the end.the bristles are then flat on the panels.i also use an extreme 47 extending  all the sections half way(if their not too high up)to maximise rigidity.
price higher/work harder!

Solar panels are waterproof....... in case it rains.....
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

I was told by a electrician that does the electrical work for a panel installer that its safer to get customer to turn it off in case there is a fault or badly wired that way you only get a shock from panel not from inverter

Are you sure, Daz?
It's just that if your guy was electrocuted, and it was recorded, it'd be the first ever electrocution, from solar panel cleaning, recorded.

You can electrocute yourself cleaning solar panels - here's how you do it ........ crawl under the one inch gap between the panel and the tiles, next locate the wires that come out of the back of the panel and disconnect, next reach into your pocket for some handy wire strippers and peel back the insulated coating. Once you've done this it should be safe to grasp the bare wires with your hands and try to electrocute yourself - good luck.
Don't forget to post how you got on!

I am on about another cleaner being injured at work.
when he left for work in the morning he never thought he would end his day in hospital.
regardless of this it could affect you in the future we  all  learn from others mistakes and misfortunes.
if all you can do is take the  micky just hope it isn't you  next time.
think of the human angle for once and try to show some  a little compassion and sympathy  three weeks in hospital   not knowing  what psychological damage or long term ill effects the poor man has suffered.
that's what I am on about
