I can yes but if any of my senior customers tripped down pathway steps I couldn't forgive myself.

Don't forget. It's actually zero temperature that freezes water, not wind chill.

But wind chill will reduce the temperature to what it actually is more quickly. (As in if you have an outside temperature of say -1 and water in your hose reel at 3 degrees and you put it outside in the wind then if there is a wind chill it will lose that temperature and drop more quickly to minus 1.)
It's a game of three halves!

Are there people on this thread saying hot water doesn't freeze on cold surfaces?

Don’t think so……

But for me….. up to -4 is workable if I choose to with hot water.

Cold water on a frozen conservatory window = ice.

Hot water onto a frozen window thaws it out, allows you to clean, and at most some droplets will freeze after you’ve left.

I always disconnect poles and bring them in house for the night in this weather.......even been known to bring reel in but I have a small "shove everything in there room" for stuff like vacuum cleaner, ironing board etc.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

My thoughts exactly. Imo at temps of -3 or less, it’s the leaving puddles of ice that’s the problem and having hot doesn’t solve that problem.

You could fit an immersion.....hot water is much nicer to work with in the winter months even if its above freezing during the day.

price higher/work harder!

Changed completely since my last post.

Previously a rather nice 10c by 9pm and now...still cold.
Also added is loads of snow on Wednesday.

That'll make it the coldest December in twelve years.

Oh, joy!

Does an immersion stop the water freezing on the ground when it’s -4 or less?

Van safely on the road etc..but each to their own..stay safe those working through it👍

Same here I'm taking all next week off.
Live and work in county durham and the work that is due is either consett area ( the third highest market town in England) or up towards the moors around the A68.
Time to be sensible I think.
Anyway it's been a busy year and a week away from it won't hurt. The work will still be there once this cold spell clears  ;D

I've been away for the weekend. Came back to a solidly frozen backpack, frozen reel hose, frozen pole hoses and ice sloshing around in the tank. I've put an oil filled radiator in the back and will leave it in there overnight. No cold weather is stopping me!
We look at them, they look through them.
