Anyone from here from Edinburgh? If so how you getting on in this weather?
Just spent a fantastic weekend up there, but the airport was shut for a couple of days so we decided to drive back (470 miles in 7 1/2 hours).
Apparently you havent seen snow like that for years???
You can't polish a turd

yeah it's probably the worst i've seen here  in all my 48 years , 90 % of the time window cleaning in these parts is great but that 10% of the time it comes in from the east it's a bassa. But this time around it's stuff to tell the grandchildren about in years to come.
2 feet of the stuff in most places more in the drifts. The kids trampolene looks like a gigantic merangue.
Got to laugh at my wee logo on my trolly "pure freedom"  no chance me and my van are prisoners at the moment, and to cap it all there's no sign of the kids going back to school.

Been to a few games at Easter Road over the years, and always had a good time there.

When I moved back up in 04, I worked at Sloan VW on Gorgie Rd, sold a car to Mixu, also had a stint at Rossleigh in Porty, and sold a Range Rover to Mark deVries.

Always love a pie n Bovril when I get the chance to get up the road.

Was just saying to my Mrs the other day, as all my family apart from 1 or 2 have upped and left or passed on, it's been about 4 years since I have been in Auld Reekie, and I really have an urge to get up there for a few days over the Christmas shutdown.

stopped in a caravan site just outside edinburgh (grim) the weekend england played italy and needed a point to qualify for the world cup finals. cant remember which world cup it was . anyway went into edinburgh for the day with the intention of finding a pub to watch it in , had a few beers nice meal went looking for one we could watch match in . blackboard outside one pub "the glorious italians versus the puffs from down south" ;D ;D walked srtaight past . next one we went in never drunk a pint as fast . decided to watch it in the site club house . big mistake , packed with meat heads . totally abused england all the way through first half while giving us the eye ended up listening to the second half on the radio in the car ;D ;D but apart from that it was ok .

It was to qualify for France `98 Barry. Yes, we needed a point in Italy and got a 0-0 draw and I had a few quid on the correct result.
Ian Wright rounded the keeper right at the end and hit the post with an open goal. I was the only one in the pub glad to see him miss  ;D.
The reason I remember it so well, is because it was my last winning bet  :P
