(Updated later:  The following post refers to the intial pictures posted; not to JM123s)

JM,

I counted 34 panes too; I'd want at LEAST 3 quid per pane if it was a regular monthly clean; so I'd have gone in with a quote around 100 quid; more if it was awkward or I had to travel to get to it.

4 quid per pain if it was once every two months.

5 quid per pane, if it was for a longer frequency, and I wouldn't care if I got the job or not.

I'm not in the 'rich league'; far from it; but for a job like this, to be honest I really wouldn't want it, so would just stick in a good quote anyway and see what happens.

JM,

looking at the amount of windows and their type, for your pics, I'd charge anywhere between 30 and 40 quid.

I know you live in NI though, and I think you suffer the same problems as your Scottish brothers.

good to see I'm not the only one not being able to charge £150 here and £300 there (no offence intended at anyone)

the problem IS where I live, people here are notoriously difficult to seperate from their money (50p shape is so you can use a spanner to get it off a Ballymena man etc etc).

Still,I'm not complaining, still make ok money, pay the highest price in Europe for fuel and insurance (both pl and car) plus it rains every day.

Fantastic.

JM,

There's a lot of difference between the account that Barry posted and the one which you showed.

David's (the first photos) is only two floors, but it looks much higher than a normal 'modern' two story building.  It also had lots of awkward looking Georgian sash windows.  I bet there's access issues (parking and stuff) and is definately a 100 quid plus account.

The account you posted looked pretty straight forward; no problems.  Nice easy windows and no access problems.

It's not like for like.

I had no access problems.
But after finished the client love the job and was please about no more ladders.
Window cleaner before me used to do it on his own.
But i was told is equiment look very unsafe.
As for price, this was given to me by the customer......

Donated the first pay to cancer backup so the customer made it up to £150

But then £120 there after

1st one David posted:  about £65-£70 if regular.
2nd on in Norn Irn:  about £35-£40 if regular

Not always easy to compare pricing commercial with residential.  Modern windows in 2nd job pretty easy,  poorly maintained sash windows in 1st job.

just looked closer at the first pics - true, some of the sash windows are in bad shape.  Doubt I'd have been able to get £100 for it though :-\

still, if it took 2 men 2 hrs it must have been difficult enough.

nothing wrong with £30 an hour...£120 for that is a great price but a rarity.
I would have quoted £20-£25 for that house in JM123 picture so at 30 minutes a clean, that was good.
