I would suggest it maybe the repeated :-
Are Locin any good ?
Chinese washers are just as good and much cheaper
Do I really need more than 5hp
Whats hippo and can I buy them in poundland
Brick acid gets everything off
I always do decking with the FSC and I love doughnuts
I did my decking with hot and its curling up at the edges - why
I drink red bull before I clean a roof so I don't need fall arrest
Explain the relationship between flow and pressure and does it lead to Cross gender tendances
Why is one forum member called "sprout" ? He's young and green  ;)
Why is one forum member called "Orville"? Cos he's young green and nobody lobves im  ;D
Its only an add on so there is no need to spend more than a packet of fAgs cos its only to make the dole money last longer.

More time is now spent on trivia and the interesting professional type threads have dried up. Who on here would be prepared to list the chemicals they carry ?

I got the mono out to clean a alloy wheel refurbishers floor and let the painter loose with it - you realise the skills you develop when I can talk on the phone - he was sweating like a paedo in court with two hands.

The threads do get tiresom and I can understand some members loosing interest

Against the advice here, i bought one of them cheap chinese jet washers off Ebay for £175. Fits in the van great, sucks water out my tank or runs off a tap. Great for washing vehicles, great for washing the odd sick spill away from the occasional shop or restaurant before i clean their windows, and the odd small terraced house back yard. Done the odd canopy/roof with it too, much quicker than WFP . Wouldn't be without it. Mines about four years old. Advice here is, don't touch one with a bargepole.......................

Here we go . First class example of the mind numbingly boring........"just get a genuine Honda, they're a great workhorse". I'm cracking on. I do not offer a Proffesional jet washing service. I just happen to have one or two for what i use them for. But you will not be able to think out of your own box.
And everytime Karcher makes a sale, its generally not a potential customer less for me. Unless they buy a window vac of course !!  ;D  So you carry on with your jet wash snobbery, and leave the people who do give the advice and help to it. Not that i see your rushed off your feet offering any other advice, besides crack on and you'll be a Millionare.

Absolute rubbish, the window cleaning section  is far more helpful than this. I've been on clean it up 5 years, and I don't recall a time where the window cleaners get territorial! You lot are terrible for it. We're all happy to help.

Take my post. I asked a few questions, and the pressure washing guys have just been completely ridiculous about it. Aren't forums designed for advice? You guys are obviously scared of us window cleaners!!!

I'm not offering advice to people who want to do pressure washing. Yes i have asked advice here, but again i do not do pressure washing. I do however clean vehicles with a pressure washer, but by "pressure washing" in the context used here we're really reffering to hard floor cleaners and i don't really do them. I am not territorial over window cleaning, nor anything else. I am however an ex mechanic, and whilst it does not qualify me for anything here it does help my understanding of pumps and engines. Which are generally the questions i'll ask on. And, when provoked, like now, i'll give a response on. Cheap Chinese jet washers are fine, for what they are intended for. i.e NOT to compete with Proffesional cleaners using higher spec equiptment. But they are fine for a window cleaner as an  add on for certain stuff. Yes i've heard the horror stories, they're usually down to user error. They do require a little bit of prior knowledge etc, but they're fine. There's fellas here (mentioning no names ;D ) , who'll tell you to get a diesel washer at every opportunity he can as they're cheaper to run. Fine if you're using one five days a week, not so fine when you realise they rattle apart unless to tighten all the nuts up every fortnight. And seeing as you only wanted to clean the odd patio etc every week the extra outlay for a diesel wasn't really worth it !! ;D
So you're right i'm on my way to making my millions with my cheap chinese washer. Its four years old, i've cleaned conservatorys with it and allsorts. And luckily for me its got me started on my truckwashing contract. And now i've bought and made a new one !!! I even shared my limited knowledge of what i've done  and what i paid, see i'm a good guy !!  ;D
You however just seem, to me anyway, to want to shout at anyone who hasn't paid three grand for a Honda !!
But lets get it right. Honda do not make pressure washers. They make engines. Loads of other people make equally good engines a lot cheaper. Now, here's where as a mechanic,or ex one, i do know what i'm talking about !!! Also,  can't speak for Interpump as i have not bought a brand new one yet!!! The quality AR Italian pump i bought was built, just like the engine i bought from Germany, in............yep !!!........China.   ;D

Don't be a snob, relax, lighten up, give some helpfull info. Oh, hang on, you're from Essex.......am i right ?  ;D

So you clean conservatories with a pressure washer?

Because it's an add I  does that mean amateur equipment is acceptable?  If your gonna do something then do it properly, otherwise dont bother.

Ha ha !!! You for real ? Break it down for me Bro, exactly what you mean. I could do with a little jet wash in the back of my van, for the odd sick clean. Conny roof, whatever i wanna use it for....you're saying i shouldn't and i should get "proffesional gear" ? Go give your head a wobble. See how it looks next week.

Thats pretty much exactly what im saying bro.

I wouldn't fix a car with knock off parts.

Ah right.ok. I have used a power washer on a conny roof, something i would do again if needed. Of course i wouldn't recommend that as a way of cleaning conny roofs. But there's a time and place for everything. They're fine for a small clean, whatever.

Now i've had a problem....... Might make you laugh, but after four years of heavy use my little chinese jet washer has give up the ghost. It has an alloy pump head, with some brass screws in it. These are prone when overheating or freezing to crack the alloy, and thats whats happened to mine. Its £29 for a new pump head. I've shelved it, because i have gone onto other uses for my jet wash, i.e i got a newer bigger one for my truckwashing. And the old one is not interchangable. So here's what i'm, gonna do. I'm going to order a new pump head for £29 and i'm going to fit it. Then anyone who fancies it can buy the washer off me for £29. It will save me throwing it out. I'll demonstrate it and throw in a lance and nozzles, but they'll have to buy their own hose for it.
So if you want a cheap little addon you can have my little chinese 2200PSI, 6/7 LPM jet washer for £29. First come first served, you'll have to collect from Liverpool. My contact is cleanandclearliverpool@gmail.com  but i dont want anyone to email me for it. Post here that you want it for £29 and i'll get it ready for you. First come first served. If you dont turn up i'll ask the next person who's asked for it. Then we can get some feedback on just how usefull a cheap chinese jet washer is , or otherwise, as an add on for your cleaning business.

  So there ya go !!......................

There's a member on here who works very high end with Karcher pressure washers. Nothing wrong with them. I've got one for washing the cars at home.

I don't or rather I hope I am not a machine snob and I can see that every requirement is different.
What suits me is not right for someone else and the same in reverse.

You don't need a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I've gone across a whole Sainsbury's storefront tonight, with chewing gum removal and also most of a neighboring Boots frontage and then cleaned some guttering.

I can do that because of the machine I have.

Another contractor said to me - 'you've knocked the work out tonight'

I said - It's down to the machine', which it is but I also know how to get the best from it.

My 1st machine was 6.5 hp and about 1 LPM. There's no need to spend a fortune to make your service excellent and I can see where the add on guys are coming from.

If I didn't have an add on of pressure washing, advertised on my old website I would not have what I have now and I never did a lot before we went commercial. In fact I did virtually none.

I tell you where I am at.

Let the guys ask the questions, if you are fed up with the same old questions just don't reply.

I've always liked good coffee and I have a coffee machine but I am looking for a new machine, something a bit special, where I can grind my own beans and that will be aesthetically pleasing to me. I'm on a coffee forum, picking up all the info I can. I'm finding it really quite interesting.

Not everyones cup of tea (see what I did there  ;D) but it floats my boat.

Spend less time on here and fill that time with something else. You will be surprised!

A major bonus to my new way of thinking is that I don't have to tolerate the 'Crosby clock'

All the best

Rob ;D

you are correct in what your saying it is "Horses for Courses".  I often usae an analagy that you want to drill 50 holes in brickwork / masonry then an 18v battery Makita will do it "EVENTUALLY".  Nowhere near as quick an efficiently as 36Volt Makita / Hilti or similar but they will both do it.  The difference is I will be at home drinking tea whilst the 18Volt Guy is still at it changing batteries every couple of holes.

My point is for occasional use then the cheap stuff is great "For a While" but there comes a point where it is not Ok and starts to cost you one way or another.  When I was tiling I used a Hilti Jack Hammer with a bolster fitted to remove tiles and it goes through them like butter it cost me in excess of £1500 at the time and is still going strong today.  However, at the time I knew another tiler who used some thing from B&Q that cost £49 and if it broke he took it back and changed it for a new one.  His point was he could buy 30 of those for what I paid.  My point was I needed something totally reliable with self sharpening bits and vibration damping control to protect my guys.  Who was right me or him?

I bought a cxouple of years ago a small Falch Electric PW to clean our machines when they come back in from grinding it cost about £500 but I could have bought the same power PW for £75 or less from Aldi!!!   Did I  make the right or wrong decision.  99/100 you get weaht you pay for and ultimately it is down to how much you are going to use it IMHO.

I hear you were in Euston Road the other day.  They asked me to recommend someone for the outside and I told them to call you!  They told me a week later that you had been!  Do you know where I mean?

When you live on the edge of the world you have to drive - I raced in Guildford Sun, Polehill Gypsy camp Mon, Waterlane Gypsy camp today and a drain in Bartertown first thing tomorrow. Anyway people in glass houses.
