Why dont you just buy a brand new one for only about £100 more and if moneys an issue if you buy it off the likes of restormate you get 30 days credit.

Just a thought :)

Yeah a 2nd hand 15" rotary is doable for that much money, it's far more versatile than a duo and will give better agitation with the right pads. The downside is you don't really want to that sort of thing up stairs and it tight spot in peopes homes.

I had one now I use small size rotaries, much better.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

I've tried a duo on blacktop, and didnt find it very effective. It's a bit lightweight to really brush it in, but others might have had better experience.

Phillip,
Sebo duo's tend to be a bit fragile and not beefy enough on things like black top. Why not use a red or white pad under your DF machine?

Phillip.

This kind of thing.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280780386888?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570.l2736%26_nkw%3D280780386888%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_500wt_922

You can get them from your local cleaning supplies place, only a few quid. White, tan or red should do it but make sure you lubricate it well before use and try it out on one of your own carpets to make sure it doesn't cause damage.

I have used the tan ones before on a really nasty job, so they do work, but as Simon says make sure you put plenty of hot liquid down.... :D

Gosh, Phillip. It couldn't be easier. Buy a pad, lubricate it with some shampoo or DF fluid and try it on some of your carpet. All you have to do is try it, what's difficult about that and you'll have saved a load of money.

Phillip,
Ok, 17 inch white, tan or red. The colour indicates the abrasiveness of each, so you need the softest ones, white is the softest, tan and red a bit more abrasive, get all three and then lubricate both the carpet & the pad first and give them a whirl, but do it on your own carpets first so you can experiment and find the one that gives you good agitation without damaging the carpet. You should never use dry pads no matter the colour.

The best thing you can do is buy a grey xr scrub pad off world of clean, sew it onto a DF pad and bobs yer uncle! Prespray with your chosen product ,scrub then pad it as normal. In fact if you usethis method with all your DF jobs you will notice a big difference. £35 well spent. Forget the duo !
