i know this is a bit of a silly question but here it gose just wondering what other window cleaners say when answering the work phone

eg

morning/afternoon ivesons window cleaning
or ivesons window cleaning

what do you find works best ???

Silly question it may be, but here's a serious answer.

Your first suggesting is the one to go for, but extend it a little.  "GOOD" morning/afternoon, then your company name.  The start bit because it's been shown that people don't listen to the first word or two of a phone call, so use it for wasted words.  Then your company name because then they know they are speaking to the right person.

If I phone for, say a plumber and they answer just "Hello", they are less likely to get my business than somepne who is professional.  Doubters can deride me all they want, but I'm sure I'm not alone, so why take the chance?

Agreed.

It gets right up my chuff if I phone a "business" phone and I get some baboon grunting a greeting on the other end of the line.

If someone phones my mobile I grunt like a baboon.  :D
