Surely you wont use fan jets .. and you must rinse off glass to begin with....

do things the safe right way to begin with , then you will speed up and choose your best method when you gain the confidence with wfp

play safe.

one tip.... fan jets dont push left over residue down the glass like a pencil jet does.

and it DOES spray into vents , simply put, you cannot guide a fan jet in the same way.

you will if you listen to what advice is being given to you.  ;)...

when you rinse on the glass, in my opinion , its something that comes after confidence gained...

but its your choice... go ahead , do everything your own way...

sometimes its the only way to learn..

Sorry Daz i missed your reply last night

I just prefared the ladders because i thought they were quicker and i got sick of running around the van to get the hoses right and then they were snagging on everything they could. Then i wasnt confident with the system which i think showed to the customers. I was just anxious about the results after the clean and on the terraced which i can do fronts pretty wuick off the ladder they didnt like the water spillage which was understandable after the winter because the thought it would freeze. I did put salt down but felt like i was doing and extra job running round with salt.

As for prices i already clean frames on all my houses so i couldnt offer that as an advantage so many just seen it as i was getting lazy and making a mess of the street. I think if i ever went back to WFP it would only be for commercial cleaning with the H&S but im more than happy with the ladders and i have taken a few customers from wfp cleaners who werent happy with the results wfp left...

This is the way i run my business but i think if you have the confidence in what your using it will rub off on the customers.

Good luck mate

cheers danny.fair enough.i do think there is a learning curve with wfp though.

a lot of experienced guys have nearly given up after the first couple of weeks!ill be gettin a trolley for most of my compact work.i could imagine the van mount doing my head in with havin to be tied to the van all the time.i do have a lot of compact work with pitched roofs and connys so im sure itll stop a hell of a lot of climbing or messing about with my trad pole!

if water is really an issue at times then i would trad the downstairs windows and wfp tops on fussy custys.i think your a lot younger than me danny boy!im 38 now!the ladders and trad work was great when i was younger!but as im hurtling towards my 40 birthday its time to make my job easier and safer.

also your missing out on the bigger awkward houses that you can charge a premium on and up that hourly rate!!
price higher/work harder!

I agree with you on the point of age daz. I turned 40 at the start of the year and I had a couple of new jobs yesterday that had ackward pitched windows and windows above big bay windows and by the time I got those done I was knackered. Mind you it could have been the onset of "Man flu" as I've taken today off as I felt totaly crap when I woke up this morning, but just have to get back at it tomorow.

I'm looking to get myself a wfp set up in the next month or so, I was wary as I've heard of a few custies in my town not liking the result the've had from another cleaner who uses one, but it's like anything if he or his guys aren't using it correctly then they could get some poor results.
