using water hydrents

does anyone no about useing them south east water website doesnt say anything about them, wonderd what they cost to use? problem i have used my trailer a couple of times and i was cleaning a roof off  and my water tank was empty in just over an hour luckely they had a water supply just thinking if i had to travel then got low on water i could use hydrents anyone with any ideas!!!!!

I'm in Dover in between southern water, Folkestone and Dover and South Eastern Water and I enquired once and nobody seemed to know if it was the water company's or the fire brigade. Anyway it was about £500pa for each area plus the water cost which was buttons. I never bothered as every customer has a garden tap, washing machine or a nextdoor neighbour

the water board are in  sole control of the hydrants as they are all linked to the water systems out houses recieve, as a fire fighter i know this because from time to time if they are using a hydrant on a fire for a long amount of time the water board engineers come out to the incident to see why were using so much. they know this as they have sensors in the pumping houses.

so i would be careful using hydrants for your water filling as they DO know which are being used. and also you will need a stand pipe, key and bar and hose. hope this helps :)

rang south east water today and had a result they said u can rent a stack pipe of them which measures the amount of water u use this costs £23 per mth then u are charged £1 per 1000ltrs, result my tank would be full for 75p
