FFC.
I cracked 3 once when I crashed my motorbike. I went to work the next day and was led down under a bath plumbing it up. It had been ok till then and it hurt so much I had to crawl on my back to the top of the stairs where I could sit up. I took the rest of the day off but went back next day.
Just had to put up with the pain and took ibuprofen.
You won't want to breath in fully because of the pain but if you don't fully inflate your lung then you will end up with pneumonia. I know!!!
Try not to read any joke texts you get sent as it might hurt  laughing and you should be alright.
Every time I went to laugh I thought of the mother in law and it worked for me.
Andy.

ps how did you break it?

You better use my story. You'll get more sympathy off the women if you fell off your bike than the ladder story. Better still say you fell out  of a tree saving a kitten. They'll love that one.

I cracked 2 ribs and worked through it, every time you used the wfp you could feel your chest flaping loose and also every step. It took about 8-9 months but I did not rest it.

Done it TWICE.

First time, I fell off the toilet and cracked my ribs on the side of the bath.

Second time, fell off a motorbike.

Working was difficult enough, but coughing and laughing were HELL!!!

I seem to remember that it was real pain for six weeks and then it just faded away in a week.

Was you standing on the bike aswell Wally ?

from remembering 6/8 weeks to heal, as wally says coughing was hell, felt like being stabbed  :-X
Glad your ok and on the mend if your going to work I feel for you, I would avoid ladders as that can kill you if you get the twinging/stabbing pain at the top, be lucky more important be safe.

Cracked a rib in january.
Hurt a bit at work for a month or so.
Don't feel it now unless I really stretch and twist.
