Make your own mind up
« on: March 21, 2010, 09:42:51 am »
Hi everyone

I really did'nt want to have to bring this up but it seems unnavoidable.

There has been alot of division amongst CCs in the last few Months and it appears to be having a negative affect on our efforts for this years CCDO and to a certain degree, the industry in genjeral. I realise there are those that want it to do badly and these people are pro-actively trying to stop people attending whether that be by direct subtle persuasion or by simply making negative and untrue comments on forums.

This year has the best line up ever and therefore really shoud'nt be missed.

I think it's important to remember that alot of hard work has gone into this years event as well as some significant personal cost to a few of us. This has been done with John's family in mind.

So all I am asking is that everyone put aside personal views of C.L.E.A.N, me and/or anyone else involved and get behind something that we can be proud of. I will be inviting John's wife to the event and hope to be able present her a significant sum of money that has been raised from us and in memory of John. It's not even the money thats the real issue, it's about letting Johns family know how much he was thought of by his colleagues.

And please, I beg of you, don't allow this thread to become a target for more insult throwing, it is written with the best of intent.

Pete

Wish you well Pete, in support of such a noble cause, it shows there
is a real underlyiing sense of community care for our brothers in cleaning.
After all we are all trying to put a crust on the table, their is no need
for all this recent bickering.

Hi Westy

First session will kick off at 9am but venue will be open from 8.30am.

The evening before is much of a get there when you do, sit down, relax, listen to, Dave L putting the CC world to rights, Roger (The Doc) tell some great stories, Jason Hedges drinking with a direct straw feed to his stomach, me going on about listening skills, Doug H trying (but failling) not to sound like an intelligent "Essex Boy" scientist, Steve Barnett just being a "geezer" and Ricky trying to keep your attn from his turquiose Crocs  ;D

Oh, and if you fancy a civilised Ceeegar, you could jump into Tony G's Winnebago (although I don't know is he's coming this year).
