How can tape or shrink wrap stop the carbon dust? The base section is the only one that wears hardly at all  ::)

I agree, But could I not wrap each section of the Slx and avoid wear.
Something thin but tough? Think im going to look into this!!

if you find something as been looking for ages, heat shrinkish type stuff, need to do same to my 2 SLX'S

emporium poles coverd pole in heat shrink but couldnt find out who was doin it for them or how they got the size they needed, not sure if it would cause problems with sliding poles up n down, would it tear n be a pain in the rear!!!

i use a carbon pole that i bought off ebay. it has a micro thin clear plastic covering that is labbelled PRESTON PROTECTOR. either this was fitted when new or perhaps in a fishing tackle shop (its a MAVER  pole)

you can try these http://www.heatshrink-online.co.uk/ think the size needed is 50.8 for a base section but not 100% sure, i reckon you would only be able to do the base sections but not the others as  would be to thick..

Has anyone tried applying a thin layer of varnish on the pole sections?
