Hello George

There are a few programs on the market that all do the same thing in a way. Its a bit like saying a Bentley is a car and so is a Robin Rialto...both cars but i know what one id rather drive!!

Most software programs will help schedule your work, create invoices and reciepts, help to work out debts and help you keep a track of expenses.

They take the hassle out of doing all this manually with paper, pen and memory, they also help to establish a base to grow your business on by creating reports so you can monitor your customers and see where you may need to put additional effort in to grow your rounds.

Costs for these programs go from £25 to £1,500 plus and you get what you pay for to be honest.

For a more in depth look at programs why not pay a quick visit to www.windowcleanerpro.com where you will see what we have to offer.

Best regards
Brad

George is really good, and #i found it easier than other apps.

More like a database, which is what we should be using for this line of work.

Just play around with it, and you will get used to it.   Just explore all the options and see for yourself.  Buttons explain things for themselves, and with a palm pda, it so cuts out so much paperwork at the end of each day

Self promotion is only allowed if you pay the advertising rates.

You are allowed to answer questions, but not allowed to jump straight in and give your links etc.

If someone had said eg  "how do you do this on pro" then that is allowed.

If on the other hand someone asks about George and you say " have a look at pro" that is not allowed.

Other members can give links to your program etc, But self promotion is a big NO NO, unless you pay the price.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

george is dead simple to use, only thing i find is it has limited space to put any extra details on invoices,i.e payment options, website etc,and you have to print 1 out at a time instead of all for a certain day or round.I found it better to make an invoice up on openoffice(free alternative to microsoft word) and just fill in blank spaces as an when needed,No more wasting paper on people who are in to pay on the day

i was thinking the other day everytime someone post a topic concerning george, brad jumps in promoting his product. i dont see paul from george doing the same on post about window cleaning pro. impartial with a coment about comparing programs to cars you where quite obvious in what you meant.
george is dead simple very usefull and cheap, for pocket george you can pick up a pda from a tenner + compared with a pda running wm5 which you need for wcpro

is it possible to put george or another program on an i-phone, i dont have 1 yet but am seriously considering (the reason i dont have one is cause with window cleaning i seem to wreck phones a bit.

if i had my work on there i would seriously consider looking after it.

Never tried anytinng other than George.  I look at other products and just see spreadsheets.

Spreadsheets are best for figures and accounts.

A database is for holding customer records, and managing them

Dave- Point taken, it was intended to point out the differing option available in the marketplace, in hindsight I may have been OTT.

Sgibson - Where did I make a direct comparison of cars to George? I didn't but you have assumed I did.  I also commented that pricing ranged from £25 to £1,500 plus, are you also assuming I am comparing to George with either of these prices too? Maybe Paul is not as interested in actively moving his program forward as Ian and I, that is why we regularly read these forums and reply as often as we do.

Just for the record I actually rate George and I only have praise for Paul in achieving what he has. I would be very proud to create and achieve what Paul has done.

I apologise for upsetting anyone, my response was intended to help not create annoyance.

Best regards
Brad

Mods- reference suppliers

It's all very well having self promotion rules in place, and equally valid to say someone owns this site and sets the rules.

The point that is missed though is that every time an alex, or a glynn, or a brad, or a paul is driven off this site either by heckling or by acussations of self promotion, the rest of us lose a valuable source of free expertise and advice.

I have george but use wcp.Every time a post is made and by brad or ian or when another user answers, i learn. This is a great reason for professional window cleaners to use this site.Direct access to some of the key decision makers and leaders in our industry is great for any ordinary window cleaner.

If the prime minister came on here explaining policy i would'nt expect mods to curb his trying to get labour votes, it's part of his job, and in the same way when Martin Lewis came on here recently plugging the 'tonight' programm i didn't see anyone telling him to mend his ways or sling his hook.(His post's were deleted though ;D ;D)
