Oh GodI have had a 25' mark 1 slx by the time that was sorted with all the clamp issues, I had lost confidence in it and sold it on.Put my name down last week for the 18' slx as I feel that fishing poles are not tough enough and the xtels are to whippy. Have also had the Brodex ali and in a dark moment converted a harris pole.If the new slx is only usable for 6 months or so there is very little choice. It has to be the best of a very bad lot.Lee

Why not?
no one mentioned facelift polesi have had a 25ft tucker pole with pennel clamps. ( lasted 1 yr before spinning, got dirty hands once anodised rubbed off, light and rigid but all in all good polei have also had ionics 20ft universal carbon fibre pole. (lasted 1 yr slight problems with clamps .personal preference i hate this design of clamp seems really flawed for regular use . quite heavy but very rigid and strongi have had brodex 31 ft hydra. ( fairly light not quite so rigid but feels good apart from the clamps and personally i think these clamps are the worst on an otherwise really good polei have had slx 18ft. ( great little pole very light rigid but perhaps not so longlasting because of the sacrifice for the weight or lack of it.) i have had gf unger pole 18ft.( geat little pole but to whippy however these stlye of clamps are better than universal)
