What do you say?
« on: February 06, 2010, 04:59:46 pm »
I would appreciate some advice on whats best to say to people when door knocking.

My own patter goes something like this:

Hi, my name is Rob and I am a local window cleaner. Would you like your windows cleaned on a regular basis?

If yes or undecided I then say: I can give you a quote now to tell you how much it will cost.

Does this sound okay to you guys? or is there a better way of doing it?

Thanks
Rob

If you are local try and mention some streets and names of people you already clean. Let them know you are established or experienced and try to achieve some familiarity.

I am a newbie so I know a little about knocking doors.
1. If you are not comfortable with what you are saying then DO NOT SAY IT.
I feel comfortable with the following ( Short and Sweet )
Hello I am a window cleaner trying to extend my round.
Do you have a window cleaner ?
If Yes then I say sorry to have bothered you.
If no then I say would you like one ?
They either say yes or no.

Fact went out friday door knocking from 10am till 4pm 24 new customers
This works for me.
I don't always get that many though

Hi Noddy,
No it is not the norm.
Door knocking is hard work but most times I get about 6 new customers.
I am in west Sussex.
I just keep on by thinking every new customer is between £60.00 and £120 per year.
Keeps me going
