Hi, I don't know about the Merlin, but I've just bought a new pump for my 40-40. ClarkeCBM240E @£240.26 from
www.etills.comAbout £100 cheaper than other on-line suppliers.
If you plumb it in somewhere in the raw water supply line, that will be fine. It's boosting my pressure from 35psi to 70psi and it's reduced my tds from the Ro from 33ppm to 19ppm (not that brilliant, I know, but I think my membrane may be a bit suspect - result of not giving it enough waste for the first year or so of it's life.)
It comes with computerised control and a non-return valve installed in it. I spoke to Clarke because the instructions said you had to fit the valve yourself, but there isn't one in the kit - it's already fitted. The man advised me to put another nrv before the pump as the Water companies get very upset if there's a chance that your water could get sucked back into the mains in the event of a mains pressure drop. Luckily the old pump had one mounted on the intake, so I've put it on the new one.
I had this one recommended to me by several people who already use it.
Cheers,
Ian
