imprinted concrete-salt,whoops!
« on: January 30, 2010, 12:03:38 pm »
Re-coloured and glazed my printed concrete in the summer and it came out superb.Winter /ice came so i  laid a line of salt down the middle as it was like an ice rink .I have just washed it for the first time since the ice and to my horror there is a white speckled stain were the salt had been,Will i have to re-do the whole drive in the spring or is ther a way of cleaning this off?Ishould of put anti-slip down when i sealed it,then again i should of just let the postman slip on his ar-e,my heads wrecked, thanks Dan

Dan what did you seal it with ? If it was acrylic the just run the roller over it with some xylene on it, if it was polyurethane then its not quite so easy

Sealing solutions, ultra, good stuff and came out superb like i said.I`ll try the xylene, thats just thinners isn`t it?Didn`t think ice and salt would do this.If this fails i`ll just re seal it in spring and add some anti-slip granules. When it`s wet it looks like when i sealed it so it should be ok,i`ve got 5 jobs off people passing who were impressed at how mine came out,i`m scared now that they will see what the salt has done before i get the chance to sort it and cancel,ha ha.This imprinted concrete can be a bit of a pain. Can i try the xylene this time of year on a clear day?Do you think it was the salt and it`s eroded the layer of sealant?thanks Dan
