Home-made Flipper (non-wagtail) New
« on: January 25, 2010, 08:24:39 pm »
Here's an idea. It's a flipper. Total cost about 60p. Time to make, twenty minutes.

Yes. I stole the idea from wagtail.

The beauty of it is speed and you don't need to be swapping tools.

When I use it, I have the squeegee in my right hand and the scrim in the left. You can guess how fast that is. It's wash and wipe with one hand and then detail with the other.

I wet the mop from a squeezy bottle, so I can keep it not too wet and not too dry.

This picture shows the materials needed. It's a 10" SYR squeegee, a microfibre mop head picked up for 50p from our local factory shop, a couple of small bulldog clips and a good pair of scissors.

Here's the mop cut down.

Here it is attached to the squeegee with the buldog clips.

And here it is in use as a scrubber before squeegeeing. This is what you'd do on a dirty window.

And here it is being used with the mop just damping the window to lubricate it. This is what you'd do on a window that's done regularly - shop windows, doors etc.

HAVE FUN PLAYING WITH IT.

MAKE MORE MONEY FASTER USING IT.

I don't do ladders, but I imagine that this would be great for doing upstairs windows off a ladder. Keep your hand on the ladder for more of the time and no messing about with BOAB.
