It really isn't a problem in fact its quite funny that we had'nt thought of it. Just getting fired at from all directions at the moment so don't take to heart.

Ian

The site has been taken down because it isn't finished yet. It wasn't advertised, but someone posted the link on here.

Yet another negative remark, this time from you  ::)

Lets be fair Steve this post should not have been made yet until the launch of CLEAN if you did not want people to comment.
All we are guilty of is wanting to know more.
I for one think it could be a GREAT thing but it is human nature to ask questions and want answers once a post has been made.
Good luck with it

Cheers Tony

Hi Tony

I'm happy to read comments positive or negative and I wish we could divulge more information.

But some of the more cynical and spiteful comments are nothing more than cheap shots. But hey, I've got thick skin.

Hope you're well mate.

Hi Steve

Got to agree with tony on this.

Why just not wait till its all set for lift off and then reveal all ???

I think most of us can guess who will be on the board of directors  :)

cheers

The original post COULD have read ............

A number of  carpet cleaners have spent time during the last few months planning the launch of  a new organization aimed at raising the profile and standards in the Carpet cleaning and allied industries.

The new association will be launched in April when furthur details will be released.

The association will not produce direct profits for the directors, but is merely being set up on an altruistic basis for the benefit of other like- minded individuals in the industry.

Expressions of interest are invited to clean@ clean.co.uk

P.S. I am nothing to do with CLEAN , this is just my opinion
I clean carpets
I dry Buildings

yes Im back couldnt stay away ,if this group of dedicated carpet cleaners who are starting this C L E A N put on the forum at the start there ideas e t c rather than a group of pals getting together then it would for me seem to have a bit more credability, and lets face it its a money making scheme where we give you money and what will we get ?? ,stick to making money from your customers and not carpet cleaners  like yourselfs, times are very hard but havent yet got to the stages of starting ADYS CARPET CLEANING ASSOCIATION,director ady porter, sec ady porter,
wages dept ady porter.  watch this space   I quite fancy being a managing director :) ;)

Been watching this thread develope. why not just let it develop if your interested provide your details and then after digesting what is on offer make a decision on whether you want to be involved. With a topic like this you are always going to get a lot of negativity. But i for one want to praise those who have got off their arse and are doin something pro-active for the good of all. And i will certainly give my support.

The CLEAN Association is not just something thats been drawn up just 5 minutes ago, its been under the wraps for probably over a year now. I know most of the guys involved and thay are dedicated carpet cleaners who feel that the public in general are not aware of what a professional cleaner can achieve. They aim to change that.  Sure, they not going to reach 100% of the population (nor anyway near it) but the market is massive and they want to tap into it - for the benefit of themselves and other pros.

We will all find out what its about early April at the latest.

Why dont we all just sit back and wait I am sure it will be good for some and not for others at the end of the day you will join or you won't the choice will be yours.
I know I have a lot of respect for some of the people i know are involved.

Joe

I have already said that i am not against an association, but the comments that have been given from, what shall we say, the founders and their friends and supporters are no where near answering any questions given to them. Any comment that does not support them is given the brush off and recieve very little answer, but they wallow in any support that is given to them.

My main concern now is how they are managing the whole situation, any one can start a club, so now before i joined i would want any director to qualify their credentials. Running your own carpet cleaning business for a hundred years wouldnt give you the credentials to manage a club/gang/association where members have to pay a fee.

And also you will remember that old thread about TACCA where the same thing happened, i remember some comments about Doug not being interested in that association beacause he already had designs on setting up some kind of training school, well there you have it, C.L.E.A.N. That by the way is another example of the two tier, double standards i was talking about before.

Regards

Tony

Now I'm not having a go at Paul Moss and don't want it to look that way but he is doing a leather club/association/membership and for that he is charging people for training and exclusive products is this a big deal?

I for one didn't join but I do wish Paul the very best with it this is used as an example.
