Spent some time over christmas getting my van ready for my new machine, which is awesome by the way.

First thing to do was paint the ply lining which was dark stained with waterproof white exterior paint, it took 5 coats to get a good cover.

Secondly i fitted three sets of 12v halogen spotlights in the van to help when working in the dark and wired them into two two way lightswitches so you can turn them on or off at either of the doors. There are two spots on either side at the back and three at the front next to the machine, each set are individually switchable.

Next was to have my old machine removed.

Then rip up the ply flooring and clean and paint the areas that i couldn't when the machine was in there.

During all this i had my hose reel out and cleaned it up and painted blue (was read).

Took the van to Barnstable to have the floor linexed upto the top of the arches (this stuff is fantastic and is set in 3 seconds so it didn't hinder the install the next day. The finish is beyond all expectations.)

Then back to hydramaster for the install of my Maxx 450 d.

I am over the moon just got to reinsulate the roof.

Seen the photos elsewhere and they look really good.
You have done a brilliant job there.
The stuff you put on the floor and sides sounds interesting, particularly as it dries so quick. More info?

Joe it is expensive and has to be professionally applied but the result is a impact proof waterproof non slip 3mm thick layer which can be pressure washed out if needed. Apparently they are applying it to the pentagon after 911 to make it blast proof as it holds everything together.

I take it the Maxx is a second hand unit?  Is it just the photo or is the exhaust pointing slightly to the left? Normally they are inline but yours appears to be slightly twisted.  How many hours are on her.

Colin just got to chip away a bit at a time.

Tony it is similar but the linex is more resilient and in my opinion has a better finish also the speedliner has a 72 hour drying time where as the linex is just 3 seconds.

Richie yes the machine is a second hand unit and yes the exhaust is facing to the left slightly but that is adjustable from the side of the machine but i like it the way it is as it is not blowing into the back of the van. It has nearly 5000 hours on the clock but as you can see is in great condition and apart from a couple of teething problems is running superbly. it is the machine that was being sold on here by Clive Ware.

Dave, talking about servicing etc, what grade of oil would you reccomend for a steamway, briggs and stratton 16 hp, also for the pump,
sorry for going off post.

You got a bargain then Goron, very tidy machine well serviced, recent overhaul at HM.

I have been using truckmounts with the 16hp B&S engines since the early 1990s.  Our local B&S dealer always told us to use SAE 30 oil.  This is what i have always used and have never had a problem with it.  You can get this from most good car spares shops although it can work out expensive from them.  If you have a Machine Mart near you id get it from there.  I know that some CCs use other grade oils aswell though.
