Has anyone tried to claim any benefits due to not working because of the weather? I've tried hadn't worked since 20th Dec. They rang today and I told them I've been out since I put in a claim and earned £300. They said I could still be entitled to some money because they backdate it. Got interview tomorrow.
I think that you have to officially close your books. Once you do this you would have to tell them if you earned any money. If you get any of the Tax Credits you will have to notify them about any other benefits you recieve.

They said i'm entitled to claim £100 for the weeks I haven't worked for me and my wife(she works with me). Will find out tomorrow if I'll get it. Worth a try though any extra money is a help. Last time I claimed was 12 years ago and I got 2 weeks money from them then because of the bad weather.
