Ice floats, so I filled the tank with water broke the big bits up and lifted them out through the lid.

We've had a huge thaw last night and today and I should be able to get my pole out tomorrow  :o

BUT....

the tank has about 2 to 3 inches of solid ice all around the sides and bottom then loads of icy cold water in it.

has anyone got any tips for thawing it out fast?

I dont have a heater to put in there.

cheers
