Good results with heated water
« on: January 10, 2010, 08:47:27 pm »
Last week in all the snow and very board at home I desided to heat 30% of my back pack water to boiling to see what results I would get. I was amazed how much better it cleaned glass. The back pack was only luke warm it washer beter and gave the best results I have ever had on my House .It even streamed on the glass and dried faster. It has made me think there is a place for hot water. Has anyone tried this and what results have you found.

Not cracks just clean glass. It would crack if you  put boiling water on the glass this was luke warm. I think if you put warm and increased it would not crach its thje heat shock of hat water.

Wiz it's temp diff, a skyward facing pane first thing in the morning could be minus five, or just lately minus fifteen, even when the ambient air temp is zero.In these conditions, or with badly fitted glass it is possible.

But yes it's much better, and if you have a reel much easier to work with.

Slumpy I think you a right as a side line i fit glass and double glazing as well as ordenary panes ends  are not polished just cut and bonded and it only takes a slight imperfection in the  cut so create a crack. I have paid the price on many replacement glass and glass in never perfect, all it needs is a tap and it gone.

Apparently hot is better for things like snail trails, bird strikes, first cleans etc.

I have only just started to gear up for hot myself so dont know, thats just what Ive read on here.
