can any 1 tell me where i can buy a water cut off kit that all so cut off the waste water when tank is full, as i am now on a water meter .i know you can get them for the smaller ros (ro man) but not for the 4040 ro.ive got a ball stop but this dose not stop the waste. is there a clever bit of plumbing you can do, if so any got a diagram .

Very simple, it's called a 12v solenoid valve. Purefreedom do them at the best price. You need a electronic floatvalve which basically lets through current when full. The solenoid is before the prefilters, on the inlet. When the tank is full the floatvalve closes and triggers the solenoid which then shuts. No more water through prefilters and membrane.

I just had a look through their online shop, but can't find it anymore.

Just an idea, but might this work? The float valve is put between the mains supply and the RO unit. When the tank is full it closes the valve and cuts off the supply to the RO unit.

MAINS WATER >>> FLOAT VALVE >>> INPUT TO RO >>> OUTPUT OF RO >>> TANK

You can get 240volt solenoids but a 12 volt one can still be used on a static system. I've got one myself. You get a 12 volt transformer with it like you get on kids toys etc.

Got mine from Varitech. You want a closed off one. Expensive for what they are I think.

If you don't want a 12 volt one here's a mains one on ebay. Says on the ad he also does ones that operate at 12 and 24 volt.

You'll still need a float valve and a bit of cable though and a transformer if you go for low voltage.

top man traps ive just looked at ,it looks good but i will wait to see what varitech has got .wally had a go at it this morning not going to work as you will have to have a 2way spliter and water will still pass by. worth a go ,thanks again lads
