a couple of months ago i bought spikes off ebay (hailo) but the ones that arrived were a tad diffrent to the ones in the foto, tho work in a similar way and theyv been one of my better buys .  Excellent in fact , i  set mine so they only jut below the regular feet by half an inch .

not being a snob but i wouldnt use them, the spikes we use bolt on to the ladders and cannot move or come loose,i had mine made in a workshopmany years ago but you can buy better than the e bay ones they come in 3 lengths i prefer short ones,Browns ladders at Brierfield stock them and the cheapest are roughly £12 and look better than the e bay ones

ive had no bother with my ebay spikes ,strong,  and the handy bit about them is they  undo in a few seconds ,for taking a ladder indoors on wood orcarpaetting

Thanks guys,

Stan, the spikes you use are they fitted all the time, what do you do when working on hard surfaces.

Johnnyald the spikes that you use are they the same as the ones on ebay.

im pretty sure that when i ordered my spikes it was Exactly the pictures u now see on ebay . certainly mine are HAILO  and  when they arrived were "slightly "difffrent from that picture in that there is a DIFFRENT STYLE wrap around clamp which is a bit hard to explain . but it does the same job as in the foto you see .

I first set mine only a tad below the originals ,(just to see if they worked loose) but they didnt as the clamp bites into the alloy ladder so i then
set them half an inch down below the original feet and they grip well on concrete, decking etc just id take them off if doing indoors work .

the first few days the extra weight of them was annoying me,now i never notice

looking on ebay both fotos are the same but diffrent price .

they are on all the time, great on hard surfaces, you only need a small lip on flags to put spikes against to stop slip or get them in cracks between flags or decking,
