the top hat washer is just used to spread the area that is next to the box, its a strength thing

they are used normally where a sink tap sites under the sink top, just for strength again

My pump uses 1/2" hose, so just change the barb from 6mm to 1/2" yeah?

And do you find or would I find that with a 100psi flojet pump pumping through that and a couple more hozelock fittings that they will leak? Or will they generally be ok and just fail after a while. Really would not want to make this if
it would be dripping water out!!

just add the top hat washer ( any DIY store sell them, 50 p each )

they last well enough, my first box is a good few years old and still has the same fittings on, as i rarely undo them, thus less wear

if you do find they leak over time, many change them for rectus fittings, i have a set in my spares box, never used them

I also am liking the fact that some suppliers are taking paypal orders. hate having to withdraw cash from there!
