GDroundbuilder you still haven't grasped it have you?
As a wc when i look for new customers i have monitored that the majority have responded better to advertising that shows permanent contact details ie. home/business address, email address and landline telephone number.
I have also gone down the route in the past of a leaflet with just a mobile number...vastly differant results....why
Simple really isn't it....not rocket science, just common sense.
If you wish to build your reputation on forums like this, which is obviously a good place for you to do it,you must take the knocks from people who have seen and been ripped off by less than scrupulous companies portraying to do professional canvassing.
We have been there and done it,a few times now,and unless i(and many others i am sure) can see that a company is totally up front and honest about basic business details then i would give a wide bearth to them.
I am sure you dont need people like me anyway, and as said i hope you are successful in your business because that will benefit other wc's,but you will allways be gunned down on open forums from people who have had bad experiances.Remember we can offer just as much advice why not to use a canvassing company as you may be able to offer advice as to why they should use you.
Of course this could all be shot down in flames if i log onto your website and now see full contact details as required.

Ive just missed motd re-run reading this thread,

Its quality,

The thing i found with george and when ive door knocked myself is that when cavvassing there are many people who say they dont need you, you then pass a card on and wish them a good day.

What happens then is you clean in their area and soon after that the people who have previously said no eye you as a decent cleaner and come out to ask you to clean theirs.

What im saying is these canvassing companies are doing much more than just getting you the work, they are infact knocking on 100s and 100s of doors and promoting your company FREE OF CHARGE and only charging you for the work they get on the day. NOT they work you pick up after.

Thats something for all the doubters to think about.

Anyway, off to clean now believe it or not...ive got 3 lidls to do befor this afternoons beerfest :P

I think the poll is starting to speak for itself.

I never wanted to 'slate' anyone as its been said. But as previously said about basic contact details. You want to portray yourself as a reputable company in a line of business that has been iffy for a lot of others then you need to put your cards on the table.

Until then put up or shut up.

And wezzy lets get of the subjects of wives cause i just off yours. ;D

ahhh the olds one are the best! 8)

I have already stated that I wont put my home address on my website so thats not going to happen, I will happily speak to anyone on the phone and give them my details....

I am also very traceable from my website and mobile number by the police.....

What you sceptics fail to recognise is that one of my biggest supporters on here is a policeman, do you think he would back me up if he had the slightest doubt????

most coppers are bent anyways. what does that tell ya!

bent how steve?! lol

 :-\

do all roundbuilders provide invoices?

why do they not answer phones or return calls?

why do they have a couple of different mobiles?

do they replace you work that isn't as stated, such as 4 weekly, accessible etc etc?

do they work to your guidelines or theirs? after all, YOU are employing them...

we are all big enough and ugly enough to make our own decisions, i made a mistake in trying to use roundbuilders, fortunately i didn't spend a huge amount of money in the end, but in my experience, i tried to contact 6 "roundbuilders", 2 of which contacted me back eventually, 1 of which said he doesn't work with people he doesn't like, yet claims he went out and tried to get some work, yet my minimum £10 was too expensive...so, which is it?! lol. maybe mk was too hard as its saturated with w/c's. the other roundbuilder, well, came, did some work, lied to me, got me crap quality work, and well, thats that!

make your own minds up, but don't complain when you get burnt...i complained when i got burnt lol, so dont bother, youve been warned :D

On a more constructive note. GDroundbuilders will travel to your location and canvass work for you. I think his prices are quite competitive and his reputation is growing fast on this site. ;D
