Can anyone help?

My cleaners spilt some oven cleaner on 100yr quarry tiled kitchen floor.
They mopped the floor quickly but it left marks on the floor especially on the red tiles.
I tried all my cleaning product but marks still there. You can't see them when the floor is wet.
Have anyone idea what could it be, is it only sealer affected or maybe the stone as well.

Has anybody had a similar problem and if so did they find a remedy?

if these are the square quarry tile floors, there is a three step process which involves cleaning, neutralising and sealing,

You really need to find out  if they are proper quarry tiles or the cheaper rougher pavers ,unglazed; which used to wear out quickly and got recoated, almost yearly ie. These may   just a natural patina or they have been painted or sealed over the years. They are not really waterproof and if the protection is removed and the original coating  (usually candle wax)disturbed they will suck in the damp. Scratch can be repaired with furniture crayons.
You will have to equalize the area of smearing to get it right, . what you are really doing is replacing years of muck.
NT used to do a booklet I f i remember right. Historic Scotland also do one.
 Beware though, the origional glaze on many of them was lead based.

It's solved now.

Used Homebase 'natural stone cleaner' + oreck orbiter, with red pad and then Homebase 'natural stone polish' + terry towel pad, put 2 layers, they did very good job, marks hardly noticeable now.
