Anyone have it?

do you find its worth the money?

Is it easy to get paid if you make a claim?

do you get sick has self employed?
yes ,go to job centre and they give you a number to ring, most off the form filling is done over the phone then send in the sick notes, we are entitled as we still pay national insurance

I got quoted for £1600.00 a month payout

thats for cover that backdates to day 1 and will pay until your 65 if need be, plus after 6 months on payout the premiums would be waived

as stan says though im wondering whether to pay it?
gonna work out alot for the odd weeks claim, but then again i could break a leg and be laughing for 2 months as i get paid to do nothing

£62.50 a month

they will only cover you for 65% of your income before tax, based on your last 12 months so its hard for me as i want it to be for where my income is now, but i can change it again in 12 months, as the current level they wanna insure me for wont even pay my bills :(

but its more ssp or nothing !!

problem with insurance it keeps rising,6 years ago my german shepard was £200 a year with the kennal club a very good insurance it went up every year till last year it was £450 so i knocked it on the head swopped to direct line which was a worse policy at £13 a month, ive just sacked that cause they want £26 a month now with me paying the first £80 of a claim, just gonna take my chance now, and if something goes wrong ive got the first £300, insurance companys always have the odds on there sides and find any loop hole to avoid paying,im only on £64 a week but ive no regrets and i still wont be getting insured

Sean if you pay £62 a month into this insurance and they will pay upto £1600 a month, syrely it would be better to just save the premium per month and put it to one side. After 2 years youve got your months wage, when did youlast take a month off work because of ill health.

ADDITIONALLY.....heres the beauty of this, instead of putting the money to one side, every month go and buy 62 premium bonds, you could win a million. EVERY month and if you dont and you are ill just cash the premium bonds in.

I have insurance b ut not protected income, I am so glad I did as car crash stopped me in my trackes for months, went to work then had to take off a month again is it knackered me up. I use cica combined insurance of america for hospital and accedient insurance does not pay alot out on one policy but I have 2 as above. it paid off some bills, and for the next 6 years there premium I am paying they have already paid me. So to me was well worth it, I pay about £50 a month for it.

do you get sick has self employed?

Not in your case Ronnie :P

As you have income from your employees, your business is still running and therefore you are not 'incapable of following your occupation' (business owner and employer)

yeah but if i put 62 a month away thats only 700 odd a year if you are seriously hurt for a year or more you are knackered but at least with this policy it pays you out

its a risk not having it, its a risk having it if you never have to claim but its which one has worse consequnces??

only thing is i do have part timer, and at a push he could take on more work but at the moment i think i would just feel a bit more comfortable till i have more money rolling in form staff to have a protection for my own income

as i say it just about covers bills but thats enough as if i was off work the missus could get a job and i look after little un :)
