couldnt we all destroy wfp on ground floor using trad?

Apparently not, no one has responded to your question

Scrimman, I’m sure there are younger and quicker wfp on CIU than me I’m just saying I could beat terry’s record. I will leave the new (wfp) window cleaner record to those younger & quicker than me.

i am just yanking yer chain Ewey boy...aint noone i know gonna beats that Mr burrows behind to claim that there coveted " ah am the best wfper in the west" title.............(i think i have been watching too many corny westerns) 8)

its impossible, the pole size.. coupled with washing  the frames first, which needs to be done....cant compete, surely with a near weightless applicator and squeegee...

i like your comments on things Ewan. and i know most of your comments are tongue in cheek to produce a debate.

but on the ground, a water fed pole, brushing furiously simply could not compete with a blade.... even for a novice.. imo.

if it was spray the water on to a clean pane.... then no competition.  ;D

but it aint.

incidentally ,,, was terry's glass checked for lines, or edges being dirty ?... because at that speed, you cant get the edges clean without detailing... my opinion.

If you have watched Terry in action in the flesh then you really do get to appreciate just how fast he really is.
With an applicator and a squeegee you can set standard rules that all can abide by.
THe work carried out can be checked for runs and mistakes.

WFP on the other hand would take forever to check!
You'd have to wait for the glass to dry before you could check it for spots left behind!!!

I'm quick with WFP, and if you have a truly massive flowrate you can go REALLY quick!

But trad is much faster in race conditions.

I've timed myself on a pair of patio doors, bear in mind that you at least have to wash the window with WFP, edges, corners and to cover all of the glass.
In normal working conditions WFP is most certainly quicker, but after just a few goes with trad equipment I was way, way quicker. Of course that was also using the two handed technique and no detailing.

However...in normal working conditions and on a property with easy access all round, even on a bungalow I am quicker with WFP, and I promise you I am no slouch with a squeegee....but also to point out I am talking about a clean of windows that have had a month to get grimy, so the work with either method has to be carried out properly.

Well done Terry!  ;D

The article says that the time was 8.14 to clean plus only one second penalty for 2 water marks.

To go that fast and only leave 2 water marks - that is where the skill is. You have to be milimetre accurate in turning the the squeegee so as optimise the full length of the squeegee without too much overlap or you need to make extra passes. Not at all easy at that speed.

i have watched terry many times and he is quick but i would like to see it slowed down as he obviously doesnt get in top corners all the time as stated it is a bit of fun and entertainment for a proper trad event different sized ladders should have to be used on a few windows this would then sort the men from the boys but i doubt health and safety would allow us running up ladders even though most on here did it for years and some still do.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

3 panes of already clean glass set at just the right height, perfectly clean brush, perfectly pure water....I could do those 3 panes wfp in 3.5 seconds.
High powered blower to dry the glass to prove no spots.
But does it prove anything other than agility, because it must be a few years since TB packed up window cleaning and went into the carpet cleaning side of things.
And for those who don't know him but fancy a cheap shot he's at least a Black Belt in some martial art or other.
