we have purchased a prochem carpet cleaner with heat and run etc, come to over 2 grand. the machine was supposed to be delivered on tuesday, however on moday we got phone call saying the main supplier has the machine in stock but not the double jet wand, so it should be with us on thursday at latest, today they saying they should be getting it by end of the week, apparently the main supplier ordered the wands but they not come from america, what should we do? we have end of tenancy job booked in for sat and hiring carpet cleaner will cost us 70 quid, thats what we used to do, and thats why we decided to invest into one at first place.

I'm really annoyed. any thoughts?

Sorry, hopefully someone on here will be from your area and maybe let you have loan of their machine! The only other way which would be more professional on your part would be to sub contract the job out.....

thanks for your reply, we dont have the problem with the job to be honest as we can get carpet cleaner to hire, a good one as well, for 70 pounds and still do the job, but what i am worried about is about the company we bought the carpet cleaner from, at this moment of time something is worrying me that we may not get it. as it just seems too many exuses, i never bought a carpet cleaner before and cant tell if it is genuine exuse or not. and do you think we should tell them straigh that because of the delay we are loosing money?

Mmmm! Tell them, be business like and put your foot down and tell them it's not good enough. Because it isn't good enough. Imagine if you treated your customers like that....... How long do you think you'd last? Lay it on thick, just because loads of businesses are going bust isn't an excuse for poor service, in fact they should be out performing and going that extra mile!

I can think of a few on the ball suppliers that would probably of sent you a high spec ex demo wand instead.

And say you can keep it till the other comes in OR if you like it you can keep it and pay the difference or with our compliments if really on the ball.

Cant believe they cant supply a 2 jet wand - common as muck.
If they wanted to they could supply a wand from a different source.

Will they get the machine to you as stated - do they really have it?

Rattle the cage and say you want your money back.

If they do have the machine and get it to you I am sure someone local will lend you a wand.

I will lend you a wand but I am in Warrington - about 90 miles form you.
If you need it you can come and collect Friday sometime.

Cheapest buys are rarely the best ones, I am sure you know that already but sometimes we fall foul of the lowest price trap.
what you need most of all is after sales service.
Does the company you dealing with have a good after sales service reputation?
Doesnt sound like its starting off well.

well the main reason why we went wth them is because they was local and we wanted to pict it up rather than have it delivered, they was also cheaper but not that much cheaper. only 150-200 quid. which on that scale is nothing. they are saying that their supplier is the one who has not got it and they ordered it from america and it hasnt come in time. which it could well be true, but now i'm having to spent more money and whats more flustrating is wait, thinking will it cme or will it not. we rang them just now asked for full refun after giving them good frying. thay said they will get back to us asap. i dont for a minute doubt that they will; not give us refund either. anyways will keep you posted on whats happened.

What c/c company is local to Doncaster?

I f they have the machine and not the wand, go and pick up the machine and borrow a wand .

I would think they have broken a contract of some sort   and you would be entitled to your money back.

If it is a new prochem machine then call Prochem Chessington, these are the main suppliers and will be able to confirm if the wand situation is correct.

If it was ace janitorial it looks like they are selling Craftex machines ie Sabrina/Serena under a different name,why would they want to do that?
