Yeah this is the reason I would never use a canvasser,unless I knew them personally.Gutted for you Rolo,£3400 is a lot of wedge to lose.I bought a round recently against my better judgement and was bricking it that I would be stitched up despite being ultra cautious checking random customers etc.I'm not a violent man in the slightest but a damn good kicking is the order of the day if you can find this tosspot.Not going to get your money back but will give you a little satisfaction.

Yep! Im picking up about £100 a sunday for 1-2 hours knocking

Terrible news, I hope you get a good result in the end. 

I've been enjoying canvassing for my business, more than the actual work I think, and was seriously thinking of setting up a canvassing service, but asking for payment after all the first cleans are done to avoid the problems that we keep reading about when people pay upfront.  Sounds like in your case though, you where ripped off plain and simple.

I would never trust someone to go out canvassing, in some blind hope, they see a property in the same way that I do.

I have always been wary of the idea of a canvassing company because a list of names does not equal a round. Many people say yes on the doorstep when they are not really serious. The percentage of drop outs or time wasters is going to be high.
