past few weeks really struggling to keepp up with work. I really need a break but also need to keep doing my work. Have loads of shops which are done every week. I got the work form her Dad and he says best thing to do is find someone to do the shops if i am taking time off. He can't do it himself as he is ill just now.


Haven't done any of my houses in over a week. Totally wore out just now and haven't had a summer break since 07 but have taken some time at xmas but i find myself not relaxing when i am off and mainly end up on the booze with everyone else.

Hopefully i will ge tsome time off soon but my body i think needs it now.

not enjoying work this month at all.

If that happens then you'll have more time to deal with what is left.
I've been where you are and now I'm happy (and trying) to sell up, at the end of the day it's work to live not live to work.

The thing to remember... unless you personally urgently need the cash..... is nobody and no one is lying awake at nights thinking or worrying....Where is that bloody window cleaner. Weeks and weeks can go by and almost all of your clients honestly wouldnt know or even care when last you were there to clean their windows. Only when windows get so manky that people just about cant see through them do they begin to think...... Wheres the window guy got to?

So relax young man and take some time out for yourself. No one is too stressed out over the window cleaner, so you shouldnt be either.

Take a chill pill matey, this job is about no stress (in theory lol) so dont worry, take a week or so off. As said before people wont notice...crikey if i worried about how late i am on some of mine sometimes i wouldnt go out lol.

There is another topic on here at the mo about customers not doing there own insides.

If the insides are dirty a week or two extra on the outsides will not be noticed.

Im working tomorrow then going our caravan after,

Then working sunday morning in wales,

I am having monday off staying at the van and this week has been abit ott on new work.

It does get abit too much at times I agree

i,am sure that there will be guy,s on here who may need some extra work who may help you out.
 if not take the day off look at your work and re organise reschedule CUL if you have to
think about maybe taking on a helping hand( it,s the summer and some youg uns may need a summer job!) hope this helps.

i clean shops weekly,when i go on holiday for a week i just miss them,if i go for 2 weeks i get a local cleaner to do them

yeah just need to look at things and chill i think. I am 35 so pretty young and fairly fit. However i dont plan on tiring myself out with working all the time.

took a day off on monday and asked someone to clean a shop for me and they didn't do it. I had manage rout in street today asking why it wasn't done. Wasn't too happy as i hadn't been informed it wasn't done

cleaning 1 shop probley wasnt worthwhile for them give them more and make it atractive when im on holiday the cleaner keeps all the money all i get out of it is the job done

We all get like this, ive been so busy lately its never ending, looking at wcp sometime doesnt help when seeing some jobs in red and knowing what youve got coming, worked all last week till 5 and started yesterday at 6 till 5 and was shattered was so pleased weekend was here and even went to bed at 8 and fell asleep in minutes, going to enjoy the weekend and take some extra days off the week after next as it will be my Birthday.
JSMC if you cant take a week off cant you take a few long weekends instead.

Have your Father-in-law prioritise the work and also ask him to review his work and see what he would like to drop...then from that forumlate how you may be able to accomodate this work in YOUR business.

Now I know that you feel you have to keep his work going but without a plan of some sort your will drive yourself into the ground.

How long do you think this will continue?..

ok last week only done the shops and stayed away from all my houses. so basically had about 2 weeks worth of houses to do and just scrubbed the lot and m,oved them into next date in diary.

Never worked the weekend either and was glad of the rain at start of week giving me some more chill time.

back on it today. enjoyed my day

I lost my dad to cancer last Thursday. His funeral is tomorrow. My life feels like its in limbo at the moment.
 
I'm over two weeks behind, and of course it bothers you, because you want to be reliable,and up to date.

But at best I can only do part days at the moment, I try not to worry about this, its only dirty windows afterall.

Dont worry take time off when you need it, or you can end up hating this,or any job. It is one of the advantagies of self employment I guess.
