Life span of swine flu
« on: July 14, 2009, 08:45:18 pm »
Long storey today that involved childrens nursery, a child with swine flu (confirmed yesterday) and the carpets therein.
Eventually I got our GP to give a call on what risks would be involved with cleaning the carpets.
After he'd stopped laughing at the prospect we could be in there once a week he told me this:
Swine flu is a virus and will last 20 minutes on soft furnishing and 24 hours on hard services.
So there you have it if you get panic phonecalls, stop panicking.
In the time it took me to get this info we'd lost the job to someone charging them £3 sq/m and we do these carpets on a regular basis at half the price of that.
The words rip off spring to mind but that would be another topic.

Don’t worry you will get it back, but I can understand their concern big time loss of revenue, was in Mexico cancun once called it Montezuma revenge

Cut and pasted
When pharmaceutical companies were asked recently why they left the flu vaccine business, the most common reason given was they were not able to make a sufficient return on their money to justify the investment. Some reasons for this included the fact that seasonal demand for influenza vaccine was unreliable often leaving them holding a large unsold inventory at the end of the year. The profit margin on flu vaccine was too low and the risk for significant malpractice litigation associated with the product too high for them to return to the business. :'( >:( >:(

Robert

Now that’s sad

It seems most cases of death have been people with other problems, but, did they know about the other problems?

I had absolutely no idea I'd a blockage in my heart ( inoperable as it's at a major Y junction ) 'till I found myself in the throws of a very scary heart attack.

If I catch the virus I'm probably knackered, but any of you could have an underlying condition you either don't know about or choose to ignore.

Cheery start to the day  ;D

Tony, that reminds me of an Aussie sheep shearer i know,
told me about time he was driving at night, when all of a sudden he hit a pig,
concerned he phoned his mate to ask how to stop it squeeling, as it was stuck in his roo bars.
"get your gun out and put one in his head" was the reply
guy on end of phone heard squeeling, then gunfire, then silence.
"did you sort it mate" " yes was the reply, only one problem said the driver

"HOW DO I TURN OFF THE BLUE FLASHING LIGHT"   ;D

Not totally off subject, but:
A man gets stopped by a Traffic Cop for speeding over Skye Bridge in Scotland and asks the driver why he was doing 90 in a 50 zone.....
" I'm a rectum stretcher and I'm on my way to an emergency!"
"What's a rectum stretcher?" Asks the copper...
"Well, I stretch rectums up to 6ft in diameter"
"What on Earth do you do with a 6ft A**ehole?"
The man replies "Put him on a bridge with a RADAR Gun!"

Sorry, bad joke!!!!!!
